Take it for whats it's worth.
At 5 o'clock Meyer is supposed to announce he is resigning.
Again.

Less than 12 months after retiring and then un-retiring, Urban Meyer is apparently stepping down as Florida’s head coach. There’s no word on if he will be stepping back up tomorrow.

GatorCountry just blew up.

Saw this coming. Time for Jeremy Foley to pull that short list back out of his desk. Some nice names on that list.

Does he really have health issues or is he running away from his problems?

Good call...I didn't even think about that.

The only question now is, how long do they wait before they introduce Mullen as their HC?

I can't imagine it will take long.

I was just kidding about this the other day when I posted about Sparano on the hot seat! Haha!
Anyway, he's never coached in the NFL before, and could be an intriguing HC for us.
In reality, I believe he's stepping down for health reasons, so everyone relax..

Maybe he can coach my Canes back to a respectable winning team. Don't want him for the Phins.

I thought it was Dolphins related due to him being a possible HC for us. Maybe I didnt write it right, lol!

Dan Mullen almost makes too much sense...

You'd have to put half the state of Mississippi on suicide watch if that happens... I'd love to be a bar owner in Starkville right about now...

I said it last year... this is separation anxiety from Tim Tebow. They're going to buy a cabin together in Colorado, that way they don't have to hide their love any longer.

Everyone welcome Steve Spurrier back as the Gator head coach. Meyer is done no way he goes to NFL.

For most, the magic 8 ball doesn't count as a "source". http://www.finheaven.com/clear.gif

I would like Gruden. His saying "no" to Miami does not at all mean he would say the same to Florida. At least gauge his interest.

My #1 choice would be Guz Malzahn. Mullen makes sense. I wouldn't have a problem with him at all. Bob Stoops would be a good choice as well. I wouldn't beat my chest too much if I were a Miami fan though.

Extremely trustworthy source on Dan Mullen to UF:

"...he will accept it and it may be fast tracked. From a source who is close to Mullen. But don't expect Manny Diaz to come with him as he may be in line for MSU job.

Am hearing from more than one source Mullen has been approached already. Will see.

Several folks have told me MSU is already scrambling around... "

Watch out for Bobby Petrino, he may be already trying to get this job.

A Talk Radio Station in Tampa reported that Dan Mullen has already been offered the job. While I don't know if I believe that, I will be shocked if Dan Mullen isn't announced as Meyer's replacement.

How are UF's 2011 recruits responding to the news?

QB Jeff Driskell: "I'm trying to sort it all out"
DB Nick Waisome: "Right now I can't comment on where things stand because I need to sit down with my family to see what I'm going to do and just discuss everything with them. Right now I'm pretty stunned about Coach Meyer stepping down. I just can't talk about it yet"

Stating the obvious: Jimbo Fisher is the King of the Hill in Florida now. Look for FSU to have the #1 or #2 class in the country now.

This pretty much locks up WR Kelvin Benjamin [****] and LB Tony Steward [*****].

A friend of mine suggested he's off to Denver for a reunion. I can't see Urban as an NFL coach.

I wonder how much does this have to do w/ choosing Brantley over Newton. I know Cam had some issues while in Gainesville but Urban has let bigger hooligans back on the team.

The NCAA doesn't punish hooliganism nearly as harshly as it punishes academic cheating. Bobby Bowden knows that all too well.
