At this point, I think hoping for the team to STAY at 15 and pick a QB would be a stretch for how much they value the position.

Oh wow. Not a great idea, man. But everyone else has probably hinted at that already

04-20-2011, 02:55 PM
What would we even trade? We have no trade ammo. We need to trade back, not forward. Horrible idea...

04-20-2011, 02:55 PM
you must be on the same kind of drugs mallet is on.

04-20-2011, 03:20 PM
Yea and then after we sign him he can miss practice because he is out partying or getting into trouble. You wanna trade up to grab a person with that many character issues?

I think the Titans are 8th so I'm not even sure this would lock him up unless this was last minute with Dallas on the clock.

bunch of hater's, yea it's such a CRAZY idea, like we never to business with dallas, like we don't need a qb, not like bm already said mallet was going to be a pro bowler,
I must be completlly out of my mind for thinking about a trade like that,, STOP BEING SO NEGATIVE YOU HATERS,

Someone's GETTING HORNY!! .... just a few weeks ago, everyone wanted to TRADE DOWN for Mallet.

I suppose the Draft beer-goggles make all these prospects look like they're swinging on the poles!!

04-21-2011, 10:54 AM
yea, and Alex Smith was going to be the next Peyton.

And, in any case, it wont matter who our qb is if we don't get some legitimate O-line talent.

If we trade up to nine with dallas, there are about 8 guys I would rather we took before mallet. To me there's still only two qbs, worth it. newton and gabbert. late first rounder... than maybe just maybe we're talking mallet and locker... if we trade down, I think we are targeting a qb... if not... it seems obvious we have other ideas.

04-21-2011, 09:44 PM
i dont have a friggin clue who were drafting. but please no dalton...that would be embarrassing

oh and dear god do not trade up for anyone in this draft. Mallett has risk. no one else is drafting him in the first.

I got it! Lets pull a Ditka and throw away the draft on CAMERON NEWTON He's such an amazing athlete he must be great in the nfl

To the OP: don't let these naysayers tick you off. Most people recognize that a franchise QB is worth multiple #1's. IF Mallet is destined to be a franchise QB, AND you reasonably believe he would be taken between 8 and 15, then you are making a shrewd suggestion. Of course, what we would pay to move up also matters a great deal.

Personally I see Mallet having the potential of a slightly lesser version of Drew Bledsoe (Bledsoe had a quicker release). And if Mallet plays that well he will very likely be a pro-bowl regular and the best QB in this draft. So yeah, well worth trading up for a reasonable price.

The trouble is, there is more risk with Mallet than there was with Bledsoe, or else I think Mallet might go #1 overall. He has the talent, he has the intelligence, but he is no sure-thing.

I say draft him if he is there at 15 or trade back for a 2nd rounder. If I thought we had a legitimate shot at Luck, I'd say entertain offers to trade for picks next year ... but that's probably nothing more than buying more lottery tickets, lol. So, if we trade up and pick Mallet I'll be happy. But it's far more likely I'll be disappointed on draft day(s) yet again.

I miss the Shula era. It was fun being good.
