nintendo - spy hunter, contra, turtles 2, double dragon 2, skate or die, california games, mike tyson's punch out, duck hunt, excite bike, and arguably the best game of all time - river city ransom.

super nintendo - ken griffey jr baseball, street fighter 2, mortal kombat, super smash tv, nba jam, nhl '94, turtles in time, starfox, and another one of arguably the best games of all time - super mario kart.

i still have my snes plugged in and ready to go - still get drunk and dominate my friends in home run derby in ken griffey, nba jam, and mario kart vs mode.

i had my nes up until a few years ago when an ex took it and sold the fugger on ebay - along with all my games. i even had duck hunt and the original gun. do you have any idea how hard it is to find river city ransom? you get laughed at in gamestop. *****.

on a side note - my mom is moving to georgia and unloaded all the crap from her garage. she called me up and asked if i wanted my old game systems - i had no clue what she was talking about. long story short - i now have my old turbo grafix 16 that i thought had been trashed long ago (splatterhouse is fugging amazing) - and am now the proud owner of 2 ataris. hadn't played atari since i was like 5 - pretty cool for nostalgia purposes.

My favorite classic game is Metal Gear Solid for PS1. It's the first game I beat over and over and over and over again. I have 2 copies at my house, one came in the Essentials Pack which I bought for the rare MGS2 Substance and the other is a Jap import of MGS Integral. Took me over a decade to track down Integral but it was worth it!

The old school game I have the biggest love/hate relationship: TMNT 1 how is that game a freaking kids game?? I make it out of the underwater level with 1 turtle left and then get my *** handed to me right after. I still can't beat this game some 20 years later it's sad.

All time favorite: Zelda series.

You and me both. Absolutely love every game in the Zelda series. I still haven't beaten part 2 on NES. That game is seriously my kryptonite.

I played Earthbound as well Cedar. I still own it, as well as all the other RPGs of the era. I have Final Fantasy II and III, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Secret of Evermore, Secret of Mana, Lufia, Legend of Gaia, etc. I still go back and play them every few months if I have some downtime. Good times...

PC - Ultima Online (MMO), Red Alerts when they first came on the scene and the original Medal of Honor was really fun from what I remember.

Consoles - Twisted Metal (not sure if that really counts) - PS, Super Sprint - NES, Contra - SNES. There really is just too many. I didn't get into many RPGs untill later on.

I really enjoyed going to the Arcade and stuff and playing games like TMNT, Simpsons, XMEN. Good ****. There is a sports bar near me that still has the oldschool TMNT. A few pitchers and TMNT with 3 friends - good times.

Look at it like this, when NES was 10+ years old it was old school, and still is. PSX (PS1 whatever you call it) is definitely old school by 2011.

I always called Battletoads the ultimate test of hand-eye coordination. Me and my cousins would be on this game for days trying to get passed the car levels (playing 2 players, 1 person would always mess it up lol). I don't think we spent more time on any NES game outside of maybe Mario 1 and 3, and Contra.

I'm going through Zelda II for the NES again. Love this game. Forgot how hard it was though. Damn.

Also, Adventure Island was a great NES game too but was also one of the most frustratingly difficult games I've ever played. Nearly impossible to beat without an emulator and save states.

Zelda II might be one of the more harder games I've ever played. Could never really figure it out, took awhile.

to this day i still play all the tecmo bowls, the first ones on nintendo and the remakes on sega genesis. still do tysons punchout. and once in a while pull out super mario to see how fast i can beat it. My college years 97-99 we hooked up a 64 in study lounge of my dorm (big screen tv in study lounge made a lot sense? but noone complained) and we'd tear up the 4 player games, most notably starfox 64, goldeneye and wcw world tour/ wcw revenge. rules went, bottom two to lose gave up controllers. i rarely put down controller in starfox unless i got drunk (plastic cups were allowed in study lounge) and i never once put down controller in world tour or revenge, me and my best friend were never beat as steiners. i dunno what happened to my starfox or goldeneye on 64 but still hook up the 64 and play old wrestling games all the time, i like the THQ games on 64 better than the ones now a days. i also DL alot of the older games on xboxlive, turtles, contra, etc. but fave was super tecmo bowl, marino to clayton all day everyday

Because of Tecmo, I grew up thinking Bo Jackson was some sort of mythological of god.

If we're keeping it old school, I was a 16 bit fanatic. Squaresoft's run of FF6, Secret of Mana, and Chrono Trigger was incredible. That might be top of the mountain for me. I don't remember a single day of school from early childhood, but I remember the SNES. Aside from Squaresoft: Super Metroid, Link, Lufia 2, Terranigma, Act Raiser, Earthbound.. so many titles, just an endless run of great.
