Talk about how much gas is where you are..

Talk about who you held up to get the money from!

During the Beltway Sniper deal, every time a gas station popped up on the news I got a chill... I had been to all of them. A buddy taught me how to pump gas at the scene of the first murder.

I was coming off the Turnpike this morning, and I saw something bizarre.

There is a Mobil station selling regular unleaded gas for $3.98/gallon. Right behind the Mobil is a BP (built for semi-truck access) and the regular unleaded price was $3.78/gallon. Both stations were open...it's just that the Mobil is right along the side of the road, whereas the BP is like a tenth of a mile away from it.

I don't mind driving an extra 200 feet to save 20 cents on gasoline. But since I'm supposed to hate BP and not buy their gasoline, I go to the Racetrac down the road and fill up for $3.78/gallon as well.

Gas was $3.73 here yesterday. It's just totally insane. It's driving the price of groceries up too. You have to pick and choose where you go these days. Most people can't really afford to hop in the car and run all over hell and back anymore.

Before I decided to go back to school, when I was still looking for a job, I applied at Sonic Drive-In here in my town. I used to work at the one in Tazewell as a manager. Anyway, they offered me a job and pretty good pay too but they wanted me to work in one that is 42 miles from my house. I told them there is no way I could afford to drive that far 5 and 6 days a week. With my Explorer that I would have to drive, I would use 5 gallons a day.

I bet I gave away $500,000 worth of food while I worked there, and ate at least $100,000 more. If only we would have known each other thing. I could have hooked you up for sure.

Yeah. I lived in NJ from from when I learned to drive until I was in my mid 20s, and we're not allowed to pump our own gas there, so it never came up.

You have to admit gas pumps are anything but intuitive... there's better instructions on pay toilets than gas pumps.

Im willing to bet that gas is at least 5.50 back home.

Last time I was in London they were all driving bumper cars. Probably get triple digit miles per gallon and fold them under their bed when they're not driving them. I have no idea what large people do.

That is crazy expensive to have to pay almost ten bucks for a gallon of gas.

Can you imagine how bad one would be raped right now if they take a big gas hog SUV to a car lot right now to trade it in?

I believe they charge by the liter, so it would average out to that. At least that's what a friend in Finland was saying. Don't know if the UK is the same.

About four years ago this chick was putting gas in her Humvie. $100 worth. My and my friend were like, yikes. She said that would give her half a tank.

Gas has gone up quite a bit since then.

It varies. I've seen $3.93 in places. It's $3.99 right by me (unleaded regular). In D.C. there are reports it's $4.99 a gallon.

I swear if gas hits 5 a gallon I am going to buy a horse and ride it to work.

What the **** could they say? I mean they would have to provide a hitching post for me, it the greenest form of transportation on the planet beside your own two feet.

That's fine, I don't need anyone to feel sorry for me. It isn't your fault gas is ****ed nor is it mine. It's out of our hands so there's nothing left to be said about it.

Ouch. It's even more. When I still had my F350 company truck, I could pump over $120 in it if it was close to empty and it would only last about 4 days.

I remember reading that in a few countries in the Middle East practically gave it's citizens gas. I remember it saying one country or other only payed fourteen cents a gallon for it.
