A 20-year-old University of New Mexico football player was arrested at the San Francisco International Airport after he allegedly refused to pull up his sagging pants while boarding a US Airways flight.

Sgt. Michael Rodriguez says 20-year-old Deshon Marman was boarding a flight Wednesday to Albuquerque, N.M., when a US Airways employee noticed his pants were "below his buttocks, but above the knees, and his boxer shorts were showing."

Rodriguez tells the San Francisco Chronicle that the employee asked Marman to pull up his pants, but he refused. She then asked him to leave the plane.

Unless the airline can show a copy of their policy stating that your pants have to be worn a certain way to fly, they are about to get hit with a lawsuit...

Hmmm so all it really takes to get paid in life is to wear your pants low and get kicked off a plane for no reason. Why do I work again?

Nope. I'd prefer not to end up a lampshade in someone's basement, so I try to avoid Southern NM as much as possible. Why do you ask...?

on a cross country trip from SoCal to SoFL, was detoured from I-10 about 30 miles deep into the desert because of a sand storm. Oil gasket cracked, oil drained before the warning light went on, engine seized, was towed into Lordsburg where we spent a miserable, boring and expensive week in a no tell motel waiting for another engine to be shipped in from Tucson and then installed by the one local dealer in town (supposedly "it'll be here any day now."). Was among the worst weeks of my life.. and hot as hell. Strange place indeed.

That's a pretty normal experience down that way. Southern NM sucks bad...

Really, this is ethnocentrism. T-Shirts were at one time considered underwear. People didn't get arrested for showing that because people "dug" the culture. People hate the culture associated with showing boxers, so they get arrested.

I think it is so stupid to wear pants like that but to each his own I guess. I have had to go buy new clothes three times because of losing weight my pants and shorts were sagging. To me, it's just feels weird, plus, why would anyone want to go around having to pull their pants up all the time?

Standing up for your principles with your pants sagging down is one thing. Arriving at your destination is another.

Getting to the airport: $20

Buying a ticket to go to destination: $300

Getting kicked off the said plane: $300

Satisfaction of being full of swag: Priceless
