Don't be surprised if he comes good. Apparently, he has settled down. He now has responsibilities now married and a father of twins. 49ers slashed his pay by 50%, down to $1M.

He would be a nice addition today, along side of Brandon. Didn't he win a game for us against the Jets.?

love how u show the new orleans interception but dont show him get back into the play and force a fumble through the end zone that clearly should have been miamis ball. nice work. what a joke. u have 1 minute of footage. why dont u show the footage from the 2 games against the jets he single-handedly won that year?

u ginn bashers are so foolish. see things the way u want to see them instead of reality. who cares if the dude was picked 9th? so what....so what hes soft... SO WHAT!!! we get it. doesnt change what he can do. doesnt change the fact this offense was so severely crippled last year by the lack of speed on the field that every move for the offense this year was designed to find speed.

just dumb. dumb. dumb. let it rest. ted ginn is not a great receiver. fine. hes perhaps the best return man in the game. so what he bobbles some balls. we get it. he bobbled the punt in san fran last week too. SO WHAT. he took it to the house didnt he?????

did we have any big returns last week? no we got owned in the return game AGAIN.

u guys are a joke. all u ginn bashers are a joke. next thing u know ull be running reggie bush out of town because he cant run up the middle. its a broken record. and its coming. never mind - use the guy THE WAY YOU SHOULD and maybe hell be a special player for u. think maybe ginn wasnt used effectively????? he didnt even return kicks sparanos first year. what a joke.

reggie - sorry bud - ur next

Love this post

All I'm gonna say is, NOBODY on this offense made more big time plays than Ted Ginn Jr since he was drafted . . . you include the numerous stuff that was called back, its not even close. Miami needs to be ashamed that they did nothing last year to replace that speed. It not a coincidence the offense ranked so poorly last year when they got rid of Ginn Jr. Miami literally had nobody to stretch the field. Then again Miami never used the guy on punts either . . . I keep hearing how Reshad Jones is "this threat" as a DB . . . well since we are all becomming more risky, why not throw Ginn Jr back on punts . . . "oh he isn't as secure with the ball" that is such BS . . . that is a Parcells/Sparano philosophy and it almost got Tony fired last year.

This year with Bush, and Gates, and a faster Beast out there . . . Ginn's impact will be more about special teams but I don't care if they guy was hated, I don't care if the guy dropped a few balls, his contract was decent enough to keep around, especially since Miami had nobody else that fills his role. Was a dumb move when they did it, and I honestly think the Fins are still hurt by it. You put Ted Ginn out there right now, the guy is faster than Gates, a better returner, a better route runner, has more experience . . . would have been a great asset to this offense last season as a compliment to Brandon Marshall.

Yes he was #9 overall, yes that should be for #1 WR's, yes he isn't a #1 . . . but the guy had a role on this team last year and Miami traded him for Nolan Carroll. The Dolphins swung and missed on that trade . . . big time.

Don't you dare post this video. Thats who everyone pointed to when something went wrong for the dolphins.

Check the 10 minute ted ginn highlight thread for the phins.

I never thought he was worthy of his draft position. But certainly better than a player like Nolan Carroll.

Remember he stepped out of bounds when he would return it 50 yards? Man what a puss. Go truck someone and snap your stick frame. Speed? Speed isn't what makes a football player, but its damn sure nice to have.

The guy who made this video should add the bobbled punt when he housed it the 2nd time against seattle, but just show that 1 second clip before he broke loose.

Its amazing to see so much for his defense these days. I know a few like Kdawg would have liked to keep him around. But I really didn't many defending him for a long time.

Wow...people on this site get so mad over petty things.

dont think anybodys mad about anything. sometimes people beat a dead horse, and when the case they try to make couldnt be further from the truth. people tend to respond to bring clarity. ginn happens to be one of those players. and posters try to bring the guy down. and thats fine, but they fail to acknowledge the truth.

listen just about every player in the NFL has a weakness. they have something they dont do well. most fans just dont see it. they arent aware of it. it doesnt mean they dont do something else well. it doesnt mean they dont do something well enough to help a team win championships.

it up to the front office and the coaching staff to utilize these players correctly. the ones that are very good at it win. the ones that dont recognize these skills and find a way to help the player be successful - they lose.

ted ginn is one of the best return men in the game. if not the best. devin hester is perhaps the exception but he doesnt return enough kicks. which really is a failure of that staff. because he took chicago to a super bowl returning kicks. he made a bigger impact on that team as a return man than a receiver. WHY eliminate that??? u think teams arent THRILLED they dont have to deal with devin hester as a return man???? so what does that tell u??? devin hester should be returning!!!!

how good is danny woodhead??? how effective is he??? hes the best running back new england has had!!! yet new york cut him!!! why??? he made a ton of plays that preseason. they cut him because they over looked what he did on the field and looked at his size....and said well we can find that somewhere else. he cant be that good. because hes too small. they didnt believe their eyes. and they made a bad call and kept a guy that got drafted instead. does that make danny woodhead a bad player? or does that make a case against a coaching staff that made a poor decision??? danny woodhead very easily could have slipped into oblivion.

its up to coaches to identify these things. rob nincovich is another fantastic example.

this staff, this front office once again failed to identify what ginn does well and how he could have helped this team. instead they saw his deficiencies which were on full display. yes we get it. he bobbles some balls. hes soft. ok. got it. hes one of the best returners in the game. this staff failed to identify that from day one. his talent FAR exceeds his deficiencies as a player. BY FAR. same as danny woodhead. but he got cut too. did new york make a mistake???? u bet they did

As a receiver Ted Ginn jr has never had more tds than fumbles in a season

2007... 3 fumbles 2 tds as a receiver
2008...5 fumbles 2 tds
2009...2 fumbles 1 td
2010...1 fumble 1 td

breaks? lol yep he just keeps getting lucky doesnt he??? maybe hee get lucky about 4 times this year for san fransisco. just like he has and could be doing in miami. guess san fransisco can "luck" (no pun intended) themselves into 2 wins a year with ginn

guess miami will fail to have any "luck" again this year in the return game. suppose tony wouldnt like a little "luck" in winning a couple games this year. god knows he sure could use some.

when its all said and done and hes out of the playoffs by one game this year perhaps and out of a job. we can grateful that we didnt get "lucky" and keep ginn. cause god knows if we did and happened to win a game we shouldnt have because of a special teams play the only teams that would be "lucky" are new england and new york that we still have sparano!

me personally? i couldnt be anymore grateful they cut the guy cause any games he helps us win in the meantime is only one game further from sparano losing his job or "lucking" into keeping it. and we all know what having sparano around another year means.

just another wasted year

that about says it all as ted ginn as a returner.

oddly i dont see an dolphins on that list. so is miami a better team today because ted ginn is gone? or are they worse?

was that nolan carroll that had the second worst performance of every DB in the NFL in week one? and the only reason he wasnt the worst is cause he didnt get enough plays???

is miami a better team??? NO and ITS NOT EVEN DEBATABLE. so u have no case. flat out it was a DUMB DECISION TO LET HIM GO. and coaches have questioned the decision. THAT DOESNT HAPPEN. sorry.

miami is not as good a football team today or last year as they could have been if ted ginn was on the roster.. AND WHO GIVE A **** HOW GOOD A RECEIVER HE IS????? danny woodhead would make a ****ty *** DEFENSIVE TACKLE.....WTF would you play him there and then ***** he didnt do a good job???????????

how about USE HIM RIGHT??????

i dont agree. He was here three years and once they made him a starter never had any really good players around him for most part as receiving corp. Never liked taking him there in draft but he has value.
So all those guys that argued with me that he was better than Desean jackson where u at now lol

Yeah, why are we still bringing up Ted Ginn? So, he had a couple returns for a touchdown. Let's see him do that on a consistent basis. He's had a history of have ONE good return game and doing nothing the other 15.

here i am. im with u. ive said all along what a phenomenal return man he is. hes gotten it done over and over and over again as a returner. love how the attention has turned to him as a receiver now, and how i dont hear a peep about his return skills anymore. bunch a homers running their zipper before about his value as a returner.

they just gotta be right bro. gotta justify runnin him outta here. cant just man up and admit they were all wrong. lets post ginns stats as a receiver ad nauseam as if that proves hes not a good receiver. that doesnt prove anything. that just proves we didnt help him be the best receiver he could have been in miami.

on the other side of the coin its impossible to say hes not a great returner anymore. thus the noise has stopped!! its laughable

but lets just continue to say how bad a receiver he is. makes about as much sense as talking about how terrible brady is running the ball!!!

even if u go back to camerons press conference - and LISTEN to what he said. MAYBE just MAYBE these guys werent sure ted ginn would become a number 1 receiver. but they KNEW he would be a special return man. and they didnt need him to be a number 1. BECAUSE THEY PLANNED TO USE HIM CORRECTLY and stretch the field!!!! hmmmmmm

what a revelation. wow. u could make a case for the number 9 pick even and the impact a returner that special can have on a team. did devin hester not put that bears team on his back to the super bowl with his returns??? did they have any offense??? nope

and chicago was just coming off that run as well. there wasnt any speed at receiver matched by the same productivity in college. they saw a GLARING need on offense back then. one that ireland ignored until this year. one that has haunted us for years offensively. we had no speed!!! they knew how desperately they needed some. and they didnt like brady quinn.

the argument against ginn is just laughable

Yeah, why are we still bringing up Ted Ginn? So, he had a couple returns for a touchdown. Let's see him do that on a consistent basis. He's had a history of have ONE good return game and doing nothing the other 15.

or maybe thats just incorrect. maybe it was more than one game, and what ur saying is wrong. maybe he beat the jets single handedly twice in one year with his speed???

even if he only did it 2 times a year. thats still 2 games that are pretty much won by the kicking game. last time i checked thats the differnce between 7-9 and 9-7....or 10-6 and 12-4

we are talking playoffs and no playoffs or playoffs and home field throughout. ITS A BIG DIFFERENCE

I hated him but once we got BMarsh I thought he could have a useful role here. Getting only a 5th for him kind of sucked.. wasn't Holmes gotten for something like that?

Yes he was. Love how so many annoint gates when he probably wont have close to the impact that Ginn had as a rookie even if we did suck.

I was at that Indianapolis Monday Nighter. He dropped what seemed to be a thousand touchdowns.

What a crock.

You ginn defenders do realize that i did't bash anyone right?

Lol you guys got defensive QUICK, i simply just posted a video, who cares if it is negative? Look at it this way: all that negative that you see in the video is gone, so thats positive!

:boohoo::boohoo::boohoo: Waaaaaaaaa!! Get over it. Ginn couldn't catch a cold but now he's catchin breaks?

Never quoted you or said you said anything to be honest with you . . . I gave my personal opinion on Ted Ginn in response to what another poster said. This thread obviously had the intent of showing Ted Ginn's flaws, or else you would have posted the video with all the highlights he had.

that about says it all as ted ginn as a returner.

My stats were over 4 years of play unfortunately
you like 1 game stats...1 game does not make a career
but in Ted Ginn jrs case it may

ginn was trash...he ran more sideways than north and south as a returner when he was here...don't even get me started about how much of a skirt he was as a receiver...so glad he's gone...

hightempo must be a ginn family member or something...

hightempo is like a Grade F-quality troll. He trashes Sparano for his personnel decisions yet praises a guy like Ted Ginn who did, as Jim Mora said, diddly-poo for this team.

k no problem. why dont we just make it really simple for everybody that cant open their eyes or has a hard time understanding - u guys are "the situation" ud bang ur head into a wall just to try to make a case when u have none. how many guys have returned 2 kicks in the return game in 2 separate games in their career??? is that easy enough??

good luck. im sure THAT list is pretty lengthy. lmfao

but im sure youll try to find some ridiculous reason to spin that as well. maybe he had a shoe lace untied? or maybe that wasnt really ginn?? god only knows. but i hear alot of crickets now. dont hear too many people running their zipper anymore about hoe he isnt a great return man - how he runs out of bounds and the normal nonsensical ridiculous bs,

the evidence CONTINUES to mount. but keep it up. good work. the only question u should be asking is how great this guy would be if he actually had seen full time kick and punt return duties his entire career? thats what u should be asking

dont worry ill continue to remind you every time ginn takes one to the house. hes good for 2 more this year. meanwhile back in miami we can talk in the offseason about ur boy tony maybe u can help him with his job search? im sure hell be looking for a new career.

ted ginn might have been miscast when he was here but he was the #9 overall pick...is that his fault...no...his family somehow coerced cam cameron and company into thinking he was worthy of a top 10 pick when he was nothing more coming out than a glorified returner who as a wr ran three routes pretty much and had build up speed...lacked quick acceleration and was coming off a significant foot injury sustained in the bowl game to boot...

what a joke...i thought i put that nightmare behind me...congrats the guy makes his yearly splash on specials and now its we should have never let him go...meanwhile the rest of the season if coverage teams maintain their lanes and don't give him soft edges he won't do squat

the jets stole holmes no doubt about that...but he was also already facing a 4 game suspension and is still to this day one strike away from a year long suspension...thus only 5th round compensation
