Thought since it's been banana's already, one thread to get your rumors, trades, signings, cuts, etc... in would be cool.

I've been on Twitter for a good margin of the day haha so this is what I got so far....

Greg Oden will signs a 1 year deal will the Portland Trail Blazers (http://www.nba.com/2011/news/12/08/greg-oden-blazers-agent-deal.ap/index.html)
Shane Battier signs with the Miami Heat (http://www.nba.com/2011/news/12/08/battier-heat.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt2)
Tyson Chandler agrees to deal with New York Knicks (http://www.nba.com/2011/news/12/08/battier-heat.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt2
Must admit, although I'm a Mavericks fan...I love the Knicks as well and this excites me. I've watched all there games and thank god for Amare last year because watching the Knicks games were so predictable before Amare. Always collapsed in the 4th, and this year looks promising if they can get Baron Davis at point guard.

Nice work. I really hope my Sixers re-sign Young, he's an important part to the team.

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia 76ers (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=phi) have agreed to a new multi-year contract with restricted free agent forward Thaddeus Young (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3244/thaddeus-young).Sixers president Rod Thorn said last week he'd match any reasonable offer made to Philadelphia's top reserve. But they never let negotiations get that far, signing him on Friday, the first day of training camp, without having to match another team's offer.

Young posted on Twitter he had signed a deal. "Promise to continue to play hard with pride and all my heart. I love Philly."

The team later announced it.

The 76ers also signed first-round draft pick Nikola Vucevic (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/6478/nikola-vucevic) and second-round pick Lavoy Allen (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/6424/lavoy-allen). The Sixers took Vucevic, the 7-foot, 260-pound center out of USC, with the 16th overall selection. The Sixers stayed local in the second round, picking Temple forward Allen with the 50th pick.

The Sixers also signed free agents Antonio Anderson (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/4027/antonio-anderson), Dwayne Jones (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/2819/dwayne-jones), Mike Tisdale and Xavier Silas on Friday.

The Pistons just bought out and release Rip Hamilton

Per PBT

5:19 pm: The Pistons have bought out and let go
of Rip Hamilton. This was not an amnesty move, this was a straight buyout. Rip is a free agent so start the Heat speculation in 3…2…1

Great job of Tyson Chandler to put together a good, healthy season in a contract year. Talk about overpaying by the Knicks. Really unfortunate for Brandon Roy to have to retire. Nene would be a great signing for Nets. Absolutely love that guy's game. That team has a very bright future if they can land Dwight for a deal revolving around Lopez. The Magic have to be the worst run organization in the NBA.. Not even counting all the bad moves they've made, but why the hell would they start accusing people of tampering? They absolutely need to trade Dwight, because there's no chance he's coming back.

Knicks are my number 2, in fact the best microscope would only show the separation from favorite and 2nd favorite. Anyways, I do believe they overpayed Chandler but it was a vast need for them. A center who can play defense, and physically is an animal. The deal is 4 years so they will have Chandler in his better years for the most part. This of course pending he stays healthy which is a big IF. I'm really hoping the Cavs use the amnesty on Baron Davis, he would be a solid option to fill in for Billups whose salary is just to much to keep him.

****s been crazy, trades, signings, cuts, scenarios....

Clipse

To be honest, I don't think Baron would be a good signing for the Knicks. Isn't this Billup's last year? I think I'd rather just keep Billups for this year. Davis just gives them another guy who needs the ball to be effective. They need a PG who can defend and shoot.

The Knicks will have to use the amnesty clause on Billups before they can sign Chandler.

I don't think the Cavs will use the amnesty on Davis. It is possible that they'll buy him out though. Who knows who will be guiding the Knicks this year. Supposedly Shumpert was looking good in summer games but from everything I saw from him in college hes not an NBA point guard. Maybe they'll just hand over the duties to 'Melo so he can take the 40 shots a game he knows he needs.

i kind of like my celtics dumping big baby for brandon bass...much better athlete in bass and at $4 mil per over this and next year coming of his best season as a pro i think it looks like a solid trade...i was done with big baby after he crapped the bed worse than pau gasol last postseason...baby killed the c's in the heat series with his awful inneffective minutes and inability to score against smaller defenders on the block...

bass can hit the 12-15 footer and he's got some scoring touch...and he can run the floor

4 years $26 mil for big baby from orlando...who's a head case and can't play at the rim...no thanks...baby gets by because for a guy his size he's got fantastic feet...but no hops

I still think Baron Davis can be that guy if he does in fact become a free agent. I heard they are talking about Mike Bibby....F that. Also I like Toney Douglas but hes a solid backup at the moment, not a starter. Should be interesting.

baron davis might show up at camp looking like he spent the offseason storing acorns in his cheeks...i'd stick with billups also who can't keep pgs out of the lane anymore but he's crafty can hit the pull up 3 pointer and a team player...neither is ideal anymore but i'd bet on billups to be in more game shape than davis..

as for shumpert he's an uber athlete with length and an nba body but he'll break the back board with his hard shots and lack of soft touch...more athlete than basketball player imo...and that was evident at ga tech

They picked his option up in April before the CBA deal went into lockout mode I believe. I'm sure they weren't expecting this go down though, meaning signing Chandler but it was a need.

I'm sure they had no idea about Chandler specifically, but I would imagine they knew they could of used that money. Hell I thought it was a given that they would let him walk in free agency.

Yea I was wondering why they picked him up, considering the amount he was making. I figured as a trade chip to get CP3 though but then again we lack assets.

Turiaf headed to the Washington Wizards it appears
David West to sign with the Boston Celtics in the next 24 hours
Keyon Dooling and a protected 2nd round pick was traded to the Celtics
Jermaine O'Neal would probably be sent to New Orleans in a sign/trade deal involving David West
Von Wafer signs with the Orlando Magic
Apparently Greg Oden suffered a setback, and could possibly miss the entire 2011-2012 season....WOW
Knicks haven't used amnesty on Billups yet but will get under the cap when Turiaf is finally gone. Only so little cap room left to fill the rest of the roster if they keep Billups.

I imagine the original plan was to go after Paul either with the expiring deal or wait until next offseason to sign him as a free agent. It became apparent that NO was going to get much better offers and would trade him before this season was over. Walsh has done a tremendous job cleaning up Isiah's mess in record time and rebuilding that team but hes been a step slower than the other top teams in every move.

There were teams crossing off both Oden and Roy from their draft boards well before either was selected.....their issues weren't some great secret. The Blazers took a chance and it didn't work out.

the only way i'm giving away half my squad for cp3 is if i'm the lakers, the thunder and maybe orlando....

Mo Williams isn't a PG anyways. There's no reason for teams to use the amnesty unless they have immediate need for the cap space......I don't think hes going anywhere.

I still think the Paul deal will get worked out eventually. Its just hard to fathom that the Hornets could go into the season with Paul on the roster after all of this.

On a more positive note Curry and Pittman really look like they're in much better shape. I was a little worried the lockout may have given them ample opportunity to relapse into bad habits but this is the best Curry has looked in a while. Here's to hoping he can actually be a contributor this season.

Portland trying to get involved in trades to dump their long term commitments. From Sam Amick.

The deal would send Howard, small forward Hedo Turkoglu and point guard Chris Duhon to the Nets, with Blazers small forward Gerald Wallace, Nets centers Brook Lopez and Johan Petro and possibly a first-round draft pick going to the Magic, and numerous first-round draft picks going to Portland. ESPN.com first reported Portland's involvement, and numerous outlets have indicated that a fourth team may be pulled in to the talks as well.

Can't say I get it.......Paul is a guaranteed goner after this year and he attracts a top 5 pick, a potential star in Gordon, and a couple of other young assets. The best Smith can get for the top center in the league is some 7 footer that can't rebound or play defense?

Should be interesting if the Clippers can get CP3 to sign an extension because the roster they have (especially Blake and Jordan) are good fits to play alongside Paul. The starting lineup shouldn't be bad, but they need some young guys to step up (namely Eric Bledsoe, Willie Warren, and Trey THompkins)

The Clippers should be a playoff team this year. What it's really going to come down to is who ends up being the 1st big off the bench for them because Griffin and Jordan can't play 48 minutes a game each.

Just a great trade for both sides imo. Chris Paul is the perfect player to dish the ball to those 2 high flying bigs in Griffin and Jordan. Throw in Butler and that team is looking good for now and the future. Just have to build up some depth now because they're really lacking there.

Great trade for everyone involved. The Clippers gave up too much but who cares. They're trading for more than just a player......they get to be relevant again.

I don't think the team will be very good but they'll be a lot of fun to watch. They're going to have to find someone that can defend before they start winning games. Jordan is just plain awful and Griffin isn't much better. Mo Williams will likely have to slide over to the two.

Its a shame they went out and gave that ridiculous contract to Jordan. They'd look so much better with Nene along side Blake.

really the defense doesn't bug me, as much as Del Negro as a coach does. CP, Blake, and Butler is a nice 3 man scoring.

People are about to be really disappointed if they think they're going to see Butler of three years ago. The Clippers would have been much better off going after Afflalo, Reggie Williams, or even Crawford. I don't think Butler has much left in that body.

i knew jimmer fredette was gonna score in this league...dropped 21 in the preseason opener the other night...damn i wish my celtics could have gotten that kind of scoring punch to come off the bench

nothing like joey crawford deciding who was gonna win the celts knicks opener...what a horrendous official...calling technicals for nothing and one of the worst clean deflection reach in fouls i've seen in a while off a heist of carmelo that would have been an easy fast break bucket for the c's...

god that guys terrible...

Kendrick Perkins did a great job on Dwight Howard yesterday.

I have no idea how Crawford still has a job. He should of been fired after he evaded taxes in 1998. Oh wait, he was, and then was re-hired by the NBA... Then he should of been fired in 2007, but only got suspended. He must have some dirt on Stern.

Probably had a Lemon Party with Stern, Donald Sterling, and a few others.

i didn't watch it but i'm not surprised if thats the case...perk usually does give howard fits...

as for joey crawford officials should never be deciding games...and that clown does it way too often...he thinks its about him for some damn reason...i wish one of those players would decide they had enough and give him a whoopin right there on the court...he needs it
