OK, now that the season is over and we know about where we are at, and when we pick, here is a mock draft based in part on needs and also BPA's. I don't see us drafting Luck or RG3, as it would cost us too much to move up. I think the remaining draft eligible QB's are all pretty much the same, with Tannehill probably being the best of the rest, but I think Ross should just make Flynn a nice offer and go from there. Flynn looked good filling in for Rodgers last year, and while he still can improve, I think he is ready to start in the NFL.

Round 1
1. Michael Floyd - WR, Notre Dame - Reminds me a little of Michael Irvin, and yeah I know he got a DUI like Michael, but he just has gotten better every year at ND. He is tall enough to out-jump smaller defenders. He would make a nice WR to bookend with Marshall on the other side. We need more offensive punch, and Floyd is the answer.

Round 2
2. Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford - Fasano is ok, but we really could use a guy who finds ways of getting open more, and has sure hands. I counted two easy drops for Fasano today against the Jets. Fleener is not the best blocker but he can bulk up. I would love to draft TE Dwayne Allen of Clemson ahead of Fleener but I think Allen will be gone. I also like Tyler Eiffert of Notre Dame if he comes out.

Round 3
3. Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin - We need an upgrade over Columbo at RG. Opens up huge space for Montee Ball at Wisconsin,. Here is a nice vid of him in action.

Round 4
4. Trumaine Johnson, CB, Montana - We keep finding great players from Montana, Carpenter, Hilliard, Jimmy Wilson. "Tru" Johnson is a beast at CB...about 6'2' - 6'3" and he hammers wide receivers. This guy is like Sean Smith, except he knows how to tackle and hit guys, and better coverage, and better at getting picks.

Very similar to my mock a few weeks back, at least the first two rounds. I would absolutely love to add Floyd and feel he could be an elite wr. Fleener is one of my favorite players in the draft. I'm not knowledgeable on the late round guys, but I think that would be a great start. Both of those guys would really be big additions in the redzone where Miami has struggled. Plus, you just never know with Brandon Marshall if he will implode off the football field. Need to get another top wr.

good job with the first three picks. with the probability of trading up slim to none this would be an excellent draft imo. like your 3rd but would rather have irvin olb wv

I am not sure where you read that we lost our 4th round pick. The NFL's official draft site says, "Miami → New Orleans (PD). Miami traded an undisclosed selection to New Orleans for running back Reggie Bush (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reggie_Bush) and an undisclosed selection.[source 14] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_NFL_Draft#cite_note-20)"

There is nothing that says we lost a 4th rounder...it says, "Undisclosed"

Also check the 4th round transactions .....it doesn't indicate we gave up a 4th to New Orleans for Reggie Bush -

I wish we had a realistic shot at Luck or RG3, but I know Luck won't get past Indy. RG3 will probably have many teams wanting him before we come to the podium at #9, and it would cost us numerous draft picks and players to move up that much. I think if RG3 was an absolute sure things than maybe you move up, but you just never know if a guy is going to grasp things in the NFL and be ready to play. People thought Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russell were sure things and look what happened.

I have seen enough of Matt Flynn to know what he can do, and Green Bay runs a pretty intricate offense. He was firing accurate darts in the cold of Green Bay today, even though Detroit doesn't have the best defense, he still looks like a guy who could be a franchise QB.

Flynn and Moore would be a good #1, and backup. I think we either go after Flynn, or give Moore another shot at being the starter next season and go after a QB later on....maybe in next year's draft. It just seems that Green Bay does a great job of bringing QB's along until they are ready to start, and if Flynn is anywhere close to being like Aaron Rodgers, than Ross should make him a nice offer.
