First time I seen him live, wow, add him to the offense with bush, marshall and moore might be good enough

jonanthans

Yeah, thats why I want to sign Flynn and use our 1st round pick on him.

Keeno1

Yeah, is it wrong that I want to use the 1st-round pick on him?

No but he won't fall past 3 or 4. He is the next Calvin Johnson

I wouldn't mind taking him with our #1. We should have an opportunity to grab a solid QB and TE with our #2 and #3.

we need to win the coin flip with carolina to get to 8, then there will be options to trade up

flynryan15
01-02-2012, 11:09 PM
Better win coin toss with Carolina! If Cleveland doesn't trade up for a QB I would say he doesn't make it past the Rams, Browns or Panthers. On another note can we stop turn polishing QBs enough of X just might be good enough! True qb big arm franchise elite nothing less! Going on 13 years of just might be good enough has proven it is a recipe for failure!

Alshon Jeffrey, 6'4" 220, WR, South Carolina, is right there with Blackmon in terms of wide receivers. If we go with one in the first round, Jeffrey is just about as good....Blackmon is so strong and can break tackles like nobody else.

Keeno1

No but he won't fall past 3 or 4. He is the next Calvin Johnson I agree, but I would take him in a second if he fell.

I disagree....i like Jeffrey but he is not as good..he is not as quick...Blackmon is a beast and has plus speed...Minnesota will draft him if he falls to 3....

We gotta grab him if he drops to us (although unlikely) and then use picks and players to trade up to the bottom of the 1st round to steal Weeden. Let's keep this "battery" alive while sprinkling in another Brandon.

i could see the rams taking him if the keep the #2pick.

i could see the rams taking him if the keep the #2pick.

yeah i could see the Rams and Jags taking this kid easily before us.

i hope we can trade with the Rams/Vikings tho and get RGIII

dolfan91
01-03-2012, 12:24 AM
The Rams, Browns, Jags and Redskins can all use a WR ... but in order to protect Bradford better and keep him healthier, the Rams could consider an OT at #2 ... the Browns and Redskins both will be in the RGIII Sweepstakes depending on who they sign as a F/A QB like Orton or Flynn ... If either one of them fill the QB question via F/A my guess is Blackmon could be a target for them .. as for the Jags, it's very simple they need to get their young QB some help other than MJD ... so the likely hood of Blackmon being available at 8 is very unlikely ... but Miami may consider ND's WR phenom Micheal Floyd at #8!!!

While I am not thinking WR is a huge need for Miami. This guy is a beast.....6 catches, 158 yards, 3 tds. I would love to see him line up opposite Marshall! Doubt he would make it to 9 but if he did Miami better not pass on him.

Draft that Blackman

finfan54
01-03-2012, 12:43 AM
BPA IMO

but i think reggie wayne is a free agent and with major changes on way in indy this is what I am thinking and besides, this guy will be a top 5 pick.

HeartbreakKid28
01-03-2012, 12:44 AM
He is not getting past the Jaguars or Rams or Browns...one of those will pick him. They're in desperate need for a WR.

Damn Blackmon is a beat. Megatron 2. I doubt he slips past the fourth pick. But if we want a nice 6'4", 220+ Wide receiver with great hands, speed and strength, Alshon Jeffrey of South Carolina should be there at #8 or #9.

Alshon Jeffrey would be a nice consolation but I dont see us taking a WR #1 unless blackmon takes the plunge to us...its looking more and more like upshaw/martin/decastro...i wouldnt mind taking a flier on claiborne if he's there, would be a nice step to locking up our secondary...

even matt moore would put up numbers throwing to marshall/blackmon/bess/bush next season...

There's no guarantee he will, but there's definitely no guarantee he won't. If Irsay (or any other owner) is smart enough to put a good team around him, he'll definitely contend for championships on a consistent basis.

And I think it was clear that he's well ahead of Brandon Weeden after tonight.

Ive never been fan of weeden too old would rather keep moore than draft him. Luck was great tonight but so has every QB in a bowl game this year its been ridiculous.

Yup 2-14 teams go to super bowl all the time. Colts getting old only way they going to super bowls is trade luck for kings ransom.

For what it's worth, Colts have a pretty young team. Adding Luck and losing Manning may make them the youngest. They lose polian, who was exposed as a not-so-good drafter. This is not your average 2-14 team. they lost the league MVP and failed as a result. they'll contend for the south next year, whether it is with or without Manning.

JCane
01-03-2012, 02:01 AM
Luck has very little talent surrounding him and he's calling his own plays from the line.

I can't recall a QB who was smart enough in college to call his own plays at the line.

if the dolphins are lucky enough to take someone like blackmon in the 8/9 spot, the decision to take him or not will show which direction the team will be going in, for the forseeable future. i just cant shake the feeling that we will pass on a BPA type in order to take another player that may fit into our mold...

he may not have good wr's but luck has some good te's, a great oline, and a good rb. his offense is not lacking talent in the least

I think these are the best guys who should be around when we pick at #8/#9 -

Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford
Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama
Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
Alshon Jeffrey, WR, South Carolina
Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU
Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa

I think we will pick one of these guys. We need to get a game breaker on offense like Alshon Jeffrey or Michael Floyd, then maybe take TE like Fleener of Stanford, or the best OL on the board in round two. I think Mo Claiborne at CB would be a steal if we got him in the first round.

OnslaughtXX6
01-03-2012, 02:27 AM
Not big on Alshon Jeffrey. Has Mike Williams written all over him. Not elusive, not a spedster by any means, and is a terrible route runner.. He also has the potential to have weight issues at the next level. The only thing he has going is his size and vertical.

Dammit Blackmon why'd you have to secure a top 3 pick tonight!!

01-03-2012, 02:34 AM
We should be looking at Upshaw.

Canadi-Phin
01-03-2012, 02:37 AM
Claiborne would be sweet at 8 or 9. Put him with Davis and we have some stud cb. Upshaw would be a fantastic pick in my mind, we have to ad so,e pass rushers, what if god forbid Wake gets hurt who is going after the qb? Nobody.

rainmaker1313
01-03-2012, 05:36 AM
I would love him if he is available. I doubt it. But if we got him in the 1st. weeden in the 2nd and Fleener in the 3rd, I think that would be a MONSTER draft
or take a OL in the 2nd and stick with Moore

DcRy82

I would love to have Blackmon, but the likelihood of him being around when Miami picks is very, very low.
