1. Luke Kuechly
Boston College
WILB

The Dolphins go with Boston College's Kuechly for the 2nd straight week. The BC. prospect would likely play weak side ILB in Miami's 3-4 scheme. A luxury pick? Perhaps but an upgrade over Kevin Burnett wouldn't be a bad thing. Burnett finished 2011 ranked as the 39th best ILB - per ProFootballFocus.com and their proprietary rating system. Teammate Dansby BTW was 9th. Kuechly averaged an astonishing 16 tackles per game (http://www.cfbstats.com/2011/leader/national/player/split01/category19/sort01.html)as a junior and was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year while also winning the Butkus Award, Rotary Lombardi Award, Lott IMPACT Trophy, and the Bronk Nagurski Award. While there may be more critical needs in Miami, this could be seen as a "best player available" move. Take a look at the teams left in the playoffs right now. How many employ the "best player available" approach? Exactly. Other options at this point would be LBs Upshaw and Brown, also OT's Riley Reiff or Mike Adams to solidify the RT position

2. Brandon Weeden
Oklahoma State
QB

Last CMD the Dolphins lost out on Luck & Griffin but were able to snag Sooners QB Jones here. Well we now know that scenario isn't plausible. However this one certainly is. And I'm sure drafting the Oklahoma State star here (rather than in the Top 10) makes some smile. Face it - if Weeden were 5 years younger he'd certainly be in consideration for the 1st round. His production (http://www.cfbstats.com/2011/leader/national/player/split01/category02/sort01.html)can't be understated. He finished 5th nationally (FBS) in completion %, 2nd in passing yards, 15th in yards/attempt, 4th in passing TDs, 9th in QB rating, and 2nd in yards/game. Sure he plays in a spread system but so did Aaron Rodgers. Weeden's experience is on par with the 1st round QBs from 2011 and his production exceeds them all - especially Gabbert, Locker and Ponder. If Miami doesn't add a free agent QB - such as Matt Flynn - expect them to take a chance in rounds 2 through 4 on a QB. Why not Weeden here? - Joe Mays, DraftTek Analyst

3. Bruce Irvin
West Virginia
OLB34

4. Orson Charles
Georgia
TE

5. Hebron Fangupo
BYU

6. Ryan Miller

OTs Tony Bergstrom and Matt Reynolds, WRs Joe Adams and Tommy Streeter all available in the 6th round? We pass on Fleener in the 3rd? Wow...
