if some combination of peyton manning or matt moore or chad henne is starting for us next year, and we decide to grab a QB to groom for 1-3 years, who would you perfer?

lets just say that luck RG3 and tannehill go in the first round ... after that who would you want waiting in the wings?

Also just going to add that we may finally have a coaching staff that is capable of grooming a QB

Tannehill and Weeden are player that should get consideration to play immediately. Osweiler and most of the QBs on this list likely require a couple of years of coaching at the pro level. That's the main reason I didn't go with Tannehill or Weeden. I'd be happy if either one of them ended up in a Phins uniform.

Tannehill will need more grooming, perhaps more than Weeden. Id go with him.

I would sit him a yr. and get him with a QBs coach.

We're in a great position for something like that with Moore here.I am not one of those people that is giving up on Moore. I liked what I saw as he got more comfortable with offense. Just responding to the thread. I definitely think that Moore should get every chance to compete in camp.

I'm saying we're in a perfect position to draft a QB that needs a little work because we have a great transitional starter in Matt Moore. Win-win really. If he turns into a full time starter quality QB, which he is not at this point, then we can trade either one. Same with if we get Manning. Manning-Moore-Rookie? Pretty good scenario.

Weeden could be this years Andy dalton.. Almost flying under the radar a bit and will fall a little bit just because of his age. If I was grooming one of these qbs I think I would go with cousins.

Sry but Cousins is far superior to any of the guys mentioned on the list

Cousins or Tannehill would be my pick. Tannehill has everything you want in a QB and he has shown the ability to learn the position fairly quickly. But he's still incredibly raw and could use 3-4 years of just learning the position and the system. Cousins is intelligent and commands the respect of the huddle, but he could use a couple years of bulking up, improving his arm strength, and showing a little more poise under pressure.

We already have Devlin - groom him. A lot of teams wanted him, let's see what he's got. We can draft a QB next year if the new coaching staff doesn't like him.

We need a pass rusher, two pass catching TEs, S, RT, speed WR, and RB between the mold of Bush and Thomas.

All this assuming we sign Manning or Flynn. Anything else is depth and versatility for various play situations.

I voted for Foles but would be okay with Tannehill, Relf (Mississippi St), or Weeden.

I hope they draft a QB in every Draft for the next 5 to 10 years, even a blind sow finds an acorn every now and then.

To develop? B.J. Coleman

FYI: David Cutcliffe recruited Peyton Manning to Tenn, went to Ole Miss recruited Eli Manning, and went back to Tenn recruited B.J. Coleman.

The kid needs work but the raw tools are there.

I don't think Weeden would classify as a To Groom QB. If you take Weeden, you will be starting him, as he is too old to groom for one or two years, and too potentially good to to have sitting on the bench.

I said Nick Foles because Osweiler athletic as he may be for his ridiculous height, too me he is still going to look awkward in the NFL. Foles can be groomed better, and could learn from Payton Manning, and become a very consistent QB.

If there is no Manning, but instead Moore and Henne, then Tannehill to start in a year, or hopefully Weeden to start right away....no grooming necesary.

Tannehill. The guy has only been playing QB since the 2010 season. Very, very raw but incredible upside more than anyone else in this draft.

there is no grooming Weeden as he'll be 29. You go with Weeden you have every intention of starting him.

Anything else is depth and versatility for various play situations. If a lot of teams really wanted him, he probably would have been drafted. It depends on our situation. If were waiting til the 2ND round and we don't get manning, is want weeden. If were taking a first rounder to either compete with Moore or succeed Manning, then Tannehill.

Why is everyone on Osweiler's jock. Yeah he's tall and has a big arm. Not much else though

If we get Flynn then I'd go with Osweiler because he needs to sit for 2-3 years. If we got Manning, I'd say Weeden as I think Weeden is much more NFL ready and would be pressed into action sooner.

Flynn is 26, why draft a QB and waste the draft pick? We have Moore and Devlin can be groomed for future picks just like Flynn was groom in Green Bay. 2 or 3 years from now I would draft another QB groom him and trade him for picks and then when Flynn (provided he turns into the QB we've needed) hits 32 or 33 I draft his replacement to groom.

Pick up Flynn in FA. Dump Devlin, draft John Brantley in the 6th.

I would never groom a QB. This is an NFL team, not a salon and a QB is not a dog either.
