I have to imagine that a franchise tag for a 3-4 end is lower than other positions and that way we can use all of our cap money on adding more talent.

As far as the Cba goes and end is an end. If you franchise him he gets paid big money.

I would tell him how great he is and that I want him on the Dolphins.

Then I would work out a fair 3 year deal with options for both parties.
If his agent blows it, I tell him get a new agent or move like jaggar.

I think Langford is a really good player and very underrated.

But I don't think he's worth franchise tag type money. If we do indeed switch to a 4-3 then he's not much of a fit. He's not a great pass rusher so he'd have to play as an undersized DT. And even if we stick to the 3-4, you don't really want to tie up too much money in a 3-4 end. They aren't exactly easy to find, but we've got great depth at that position with Starks, Odrick, and McDaniel.

I'd try to resign him if we stay with the 3-4, otherwise I'd let him walk.

i might be behind on the cba, but i thought it was like if you franchised your player they get an average of the top 5 players of their position. Is that right or has it changed?

We do not have a FA worthy of the franchise tag, please do not over pay a guy in fear of losing him. I would love to re-sign P.Solai but if he actually thinks he's worth over 10 mil a season then good luck in FA because no one will pay him that much.

Yup, but the CBA does not distiguish a 34 end compared to a 43 end...An end is an end..It does not take into account your system. As far as I know.

Franchise amount for 2012 DE is 10.6 million. Way to much for a guy like Langford. At most, that's the amount he'd get guaranteed in a multi year deal as a FA.

We have a lot of guys who could play 3-4 end. Not so much for NT.

What if Ireland drafts fellow penn stater in devon still and keeps Odrick out at end? I try to keep my mind open.
