Reading this and listening to Mike Sherman talk about what he likes in a QB lets me know Osweiler wouldn't be a good fit for fins.

08:06 AM ET 02.17 | At 6-foot-8, quarterback Brock Osweiler is bound to stand out at the NFL Combine -- now it's up to him to make a good impression. The guy has some talent and can sling the football. However, much like Ryan Mallett last season, he's going to need to play in an offense where he can throw the football down the field and isn't going to be forced to make many quick throws underneath, where he struggles with timing, footwork and ball placement. If everything falls into place for Osweiler, meaning he develops as a quarterback mentally, has time to work at his trade and falls into a perfect fit for him physically ( Steelers (http://www.finheaven.com/tags/show_tag/23), Patriots (http://www.finheaven.com/tags/show_tag/17), Raiders (http://www.finheaven.com/tags/show_tag/13)) he does have the talent to eventually fight for a starting job in the NFL.

I'd only be interested in getting him if he could sit for a few years, but it looks like whatever QB we get in FA or the draft, he's going to need to play right away. I'm not sure Ireland will pull the trigger on Osweiler.

Osweiler may not have the smoothest mechanics and stance, but he moves really well for a tall QB. I watch most of ASU's games and if his receivers are covered he is very capable of picking up ten yards with about four strides of his legs. Osweiler can easily look over the top of the O and D-line and he throws it over the top to 3/4 over the top so he has a nice release....he just has to work on his stance and back peddle a little out of a pro set. Osweiler was a basketball player throughout high school and he didn't have much experience playing football....but I think he has a lot of potential.
