Something had to give with the Knicks, and it was coach Mike D’Antoni. He has resigned as coach of the New York Knicks, something first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo and since confirmed by multiple sources. The two sides described a conflicting vision of the future of the franchise and made a mutual decision to part ways, Woj reports.Assistant coach Mike Woodson would move into the big chair in the short term (meaning the rest of this season). http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/14/report-mike-dantoni-resigns-as-coach-of-new-york-knicks/related/

Boy, Dan LeBatard was prophetic when he said "New York, welcome to another decade of irrelevance." 2 All-stars, the coaching hire they wanted for an exciting offense, they signed Tyson Chandler, filled out the roster, lucked into Jeremy Lin, and after all that they're below .500 and out of the playoffs right now in a horrid conference.

Eat it, New York.
