I think tannenhill is a top 20 player in this draft .he is a reach at 8 but if he is one of the top 20 best players in the draft i have no problem taking him at 8.
I dont even think luck is the bpa in the draft or rgiii the second bpa.i would have to say they would be a top 10 of the bpa but not the best two players in the draft.so where do you think tannenhill fits as bpa

if ross, ireland and philbin, not to mention sherman have conviction on this guy... they HAVE to take him at 8. it's that simple. we just have to trust that they have done their due diligence, and let the cards fall where they may... otherwise, we take BPA on our board IMO, whether it fills a need or not... we need GOOD FOOTBALL PLAYERS...

I think when it comes to ranking players QB are different. If you think he is a legit franchise QB then he is #1 on your draft board. Of course that is behind Luck or RG3 but those guys will be gone.

He's a late first round talent that will definitely get drafted earlier. I'm still torn on whether I want him or not. But, In Sherman I Trust....If we draft him at 8 then I have to believe he's the real deal.

As the best player left in the draft overall? Probably around 45-50.

apples and oranges, if he's the third or fourth best QB, then if there are 3 or 4 teams in the top 10 who need franchise QBs, he's then a top 10.

If Tannehill had one more eligible year to stay in college he would be right there with Barkley next year as two sure-fire Top 3-5 guys.

If Tannehill's 19 game resume turned into a 32 game resume that's what would happen.

You're just getting Tannehill a year early at #8, an extra development year under Philbin/Sherman, a one year headstart. That's all.

Look at it that way

I think there are few to no players you could rank above someone you'd consider a franchise qb, especially considering what our other options would be... You guys are just putting a number on him without evaluating the other talent in the draft. I don't think anyone else, that could be available @ #8, could provide the same value if you think tannehill will be a solid starting qb. Coples ? Rieff? Keuchly ? Floyd ? Upshaw? I don't think so.

mid second round value imo.
