GIANTS: New England Patriots quarterbacks coach John Hufnagel was hired as offensive coordinator, completing coach Tom Coughlin's staff. Hufnagel, a former Penn State quarterback who started coaching in 1987, was quarterbacks coach for the Jaguars in 2002, Coughlin's last season in Jacksonville.

on another note:

RAIDERS: Joe Avezzano was hired as special teams coach, reuniting him with new coach Norv Turner. Avezzano and Turner worked together on the Dallas Cowboys from 1991-93, when Turner was offensive coordinator and Avezzano was special teams coach.

....looks like Norv is doing another Dallas re-enactment.....maybe he can hire Wanny as the D-coordinator in another year....

Good news the Pats lost a good man.

As for Dave going to Oakland to be DC that would be aweful funny, and aweful bizarre. The kind of thing that could only happen between two good friends such as them. Wannstedt treated Norv a lot like an equal here not so much like his inferior, and I suspect Norv would do the same. Dave gave Norv a lot of autonomy over the offense unlike what some may think. He made the TOUGH calls, but heck just about every Head Coach in the NFL makes the tough calls instead of the OC...like going for it on 4th and inches, goin for field goal, etc.
