The 3 Stooges and the Marx Bros both withstand the test of time as the humor holds up reasonably well since slapstick is slapstick. I'd hate to see a poorly executed contemporary update cast a taint on either of em.

Just the fact that they're putting them into today's society is enough to make me want to find the Farrelly brothers and throw them both into the jaws of 1000 sharks. iPhones, Snooki, and The Stooges?

How can it be any worse than that?

The Catholic League is in an uproar over the way nuns are depicted in Peter and Bobby Farrelly's redo of "The Three Stooges," which 20th Century Fox opens Friday domestically. In a terse statement issued Thursday, Catholic League president Bill Donohue takes issue with a "nun bikini" and large rosary worn by swimsuit model Kate Upton in the slapstick comedy as well as with Larry David's character. http://entertainment.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/04/13/11181462-catholic-league-three-stooges-full-of-offensive-nunsense?lite

The reviews are saying it's not nearly as bad as everyone thought it would be, but still not great.

Maybe next year they'll do a sequel with Robin Williams as Shemp.

If the movie was rated 100 stars I wouldn't see it.

He likes the original Stooges from the 30s? At least you taught him something right :chuckle:

Meh ... I'll be skipping it.

Not out of loyalty or anything - I just never really enjoyed the concept in the first place. :idk:

To each their own.

I can't get him to sit down and watch a full game(whether it's football, baseball or basketball) but he does like the original 3 stooges.

If this would have been a documentary type of movie it would have been better. But bringing them into the modern age was a huge mistake.

22 min short vs 2-3 hours. I wonder why

What happened to the Farrely brothers? This doesn't give me much hope for Dumb and Dumber 2. I used to watch Three Stooges growing up (80s baby) and still found them funny.

The Farrely bros have ben trying to mke this homage for many years. I don't think it signals a change in their style for future movies.

I get that but he won't sit for 5 mins to watch a game. I was hoping he'd be able to last season as he was 6 turning 7 and in the season I was 6 turning 7 I started watching all the games but hopefully in the next couple of years we can watch games together. At least he likes to play so we can always have a catch.

Would be interesting to see what the movie would've looked like had it been made years ago (before iPhones, Jersey Shore, Kate Upton, etc.)

Hollywood likes remakes because its hard for them to come up with something original.
