Peyton Manning did, and I can guarantee you Luck and RGIII will. And Marino probably could have started Week 1, but Shula stuck with Woodley until he couldn't anymore.

But Brady didn't, Rogers didn't, and Brees didn't. So you got one QB that we no started game 1 and was great. You named one and I named three that didn't. Bad odds. dude.

Ryan1973

For the Dolphins drafting Tannehill at #8, he better be the starter right away or it was a wasted pick. They can't afford to waste picks and if Tannehill doesn't see the field for a couple of years, it was a wasted pick. They need instant starters, not projects.

Garbage posts/threads like this is why I barely spend any time here anymore. For crissakes, he hasn't even put a jersey on yet for us. And like it or not, this organization finally addressed QB since Dan Marino

I would honestly trust the FO on this one, Sherman has a little inside knowledge of the kid. I didn't think I would ever see a 1st round QB drafted again in my lifetime for the Fins.

Ya but Brady was a 6th round pick and Rodgers dropped to #22 and those two teams had established starters in Bledsoe and Favre. The Dolphins drafted this guy at #8 and have no established starter on the team. Its night and day.

Noodleman
04-26-2012, 09:02 PM
Lol why not show a little TRUST in Philbin and his coaching staff. Miami took Tannehill with the 8th pick because he wouldnt have lasted much longer. The way the rookie pay scale is now means Miami doesn't invest tons of money in him. WHile I would have preferred a different pick....it is hard to argue Tannehill is the right choice. You can be critical of the pick but to say he is going to be awful in APril makes you look stupid plain and simple!

Brady sat behind Bledsoe (who wasn't going anywhere until Brady pushed him out after his injury), and Rodgers sat behind Favre. The Fins can't afford projects like those two, and Tannehill is at best a project. Heck, didn't the Chargers have some success with Doug Flutie as the incumbent QB?

By drafting ANY QB. That's not the way to address the position. They should have drafted Dalton LAST YEAR like I wanted them to! I was right about him then, and I'm right about him now.

LMAO if tannehill would have been in last years draft he would have gone in the same spot based on who was drafted. Face it....this was the best pick for Miami to make. As far as instant starting....gtfo the best qb in the league last year sat for FOUR YEARS!!!! If tannehill pans out....he was worth the pick!

Tannehill is a better prospect than Ponder, Locker, and Dalton period!!

If everybody unanimously agrees that it was a reach, its not a good sign. Ireland will even tell you it was a reach. Next year has become irrelevant. Who wants to put $ down that we get the 1st overall pick next year and draft Barkley? #wasted pick.

What, calling Tannehill Akili Smith 2.0 is trolling? Then I guess you're gonna have a whole bunch more trolls come November, when people start calling him a bust, just like I am now. He is Akili Smith, Sammie Smith, and the Ginn family wrapped into one, and I'm pissed.

I never understood this emphasis on "value". You don't go to a grocery store needing milk only to buy eggs because they are a "better value". The Dolphins need a QB, they got one. The issue to be upset about is the horrible decisions that lead up to putting the Dolphins in this position.

Throw your support behind Tannehill, he's a 'Phin now.

I have a tendency to be allergic to BS. Which is why I never got behind Ginn or Beck. Tannehill has to earn my respect and backing, and so far, he hasn't.
