Yeah their picks have sucked azz since about 2005.....what exactly did the Pats give up to move up??? I never heard of this guy or Syracuse during the past season. Seems like a reach to me.

the 27th pick and a 3rd

Ouch that's a lot to give up if you ask me...even if they had two picks in each of the first three rounds.

AZStryker

Hightower, they'll have a pretty stout front 7. No DB's but still

that kids scary on tape...i see a less explosive jpp there....but when he fills out he'll be 280 unlike jpp at 265...i'm mad at myself i didn't recognize that kids talent sooner...i think the pats stole one

put on his wvu tape he's walking guys into the backfield all game long...and with that length and arm length...scary...if he stays healthy watch out

hightowers a nice stand up/blitz lb but he's lost as a actual lb...lacks instincts for anything other than pass rush

i hate the Pats, but they do draft well

They did....between 2000-2005....since then they have had a lot of misses, and have traded away guys like Seymou & Vrabelr for extra picks which haven't amounted to much.

they'll use him right...he can rush off the edge and can stand up and blitz up the middle...has a feel for it...lost though at lb and can't cover

Man..I just keep hoping some of these guys like Upshaw, Jenkins, Fleener etc fall into tomorrow so we have a legit shot at one.

Now they traded again with Denver? Or was it a typo. I'm confused. Either way, **** the Pats.

Hah and Denver traded with TB. This is wild!

As much as I hate to say this the strongest competition to the Pats for the division is the Jets. With Sparano there and Tebow the Jets will try to return to the ground and pound mentality. Pats have countered with Jones and Hightower. Belichick staying one step ahead of Ryan.

what pats did was they upgraded their pass rush...both those guys can get to the qb in different ways and jones has massive upside...massive

Billacheat hasn't really done **** in the draft since Pioli left.

Jones is strong at the POA and he holds up extremely well against the run on top of his pass rushing skills and Hightower is a freakin brick wall. Both those guys can play the run as well as they can rush the passer.

i'll go with that but hightower imo lacks instincts for coverage and i think he's late to dx some things...i just don't see good lb instincts...and thats paramount

they'll probably use him on 2 downs or if he plays on 3rd down ask him to stand up and rush off the edge...

You don't think they'll have Hightower play the thumper roll and Mayo drop back in coverage? Who better to spy on Tebow than the guy who shut him down the last time they played each other in the SEC championship game?

i think mayo hightower and spikes are all liabilities in coverage and i would try to exploit it...

well they're gearing up for the Jets. They're going to be screwed if Philbin ever gets this offense going anything close to what the Packers have, lol.

The top of the conference isn't going anywhere. New England has actually underachieved in the draft in recent years, given the number of picks and leverage. Doesn't make sense for that to continue. Most likely they'll hit big on some of these guys.

Pittsburgh is the head scratcher. They seemingly sit there every year and allow a premium talent to fall into their lap.

Brandon Weeden is going to transition from Big 12 defenses to Steelers and Ravens in the same division. As my buddy says...uphill.
