Janoris Jenkins (http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/profiles/janoris-jenkins?id=2532875) is being hotly pursued at the top of the second round and numerous teams are looking to trade up to the start of the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft so they can take the North Alabama cornerback, team executives said Thursday night.

The Baltimore Ravens (http://www.finheaven.com/teams/baltimoreravens/profile?team=BAL), who already traded down (http://www.nfl.com/goto?id=09000d5d828a7d1b) once from the No. 29 overall pick in the first round to the third pick in the second round (No. 35), could move back again, given the demand for Jenkins.

Jenkins has been a divisive prospect because of his off-the-field issues. The former All-American was kicked out of Florida after three arrests and testing positive for marijuana multiple times.

Three team sources told NFL Network's Albert Breer that Jenkins admitted in pre-draft interviews to having smoked marijuana while at North Alabama (http://www.nfl.com/goto?id=09000d5d82843871). Jenkins has denied that.

I hope we are one of them. Hes top 15 talent in the draft...and the best player on the board. Take a risk...but we wont trade up for him IMO

Def a huge risk but was a 1st round talent..Not only did/does he smoke weed..He does not apologize for it...To me that is really scary.

He would do so much for our defense...you want an impact player..well he is one. He would let Vontae match up with another teams #1 with safety help, and Jenkins could man up the teams #2 with no help over the top. Or vice versa. He gives the team a lot more flexibility then when we have Sean Smith out there. Im high enough on Jenkins I would try to use Smith in the trade up...he is going to be a FA next year anyways and he will probably get overpaid.

No doubt great player. Did he learn to be a mature person yet? He would definatly start day one and Sean Smith would nickle or Dime CB or move to safety.

This guy can easily replace Sean "slightly above average "Smith
place VDavis inside on 3rd downs. Thats a good young DB field

He'll be there in the 3rd maybe 4th.

He isn't any better than what we got now, not a BPA pick either.

How? He is the 2nd best cover corner in this draft. Troubled..yes. Not BPA? I disagree

I saw a 2rd round mock where he slips to the Patriots... That would be a ****ing nightmare for us if this kid pans out.

now that I think about it, the patriots might target this troubled young man like in some media reports. With Chandler Jones and Wilfork collapsing the pocket on the center and right sides, having McCouty and Jenkins shut down the boundaries will be a nightmare as The Omen points out. THen you have tackle machines hightower, spikes, and mayo WTF

Attitude and maturity trump ability. If Philbin has been telling the truth then I think there is no chance we draft him.

I doubt it. He seems to be pretty much the opposite of the kind of men Philbin looks for...

He's not troubled, he's stupid.

Half the known world has smoked a joint. Half the known world has probably not come close to sacrificing their career for a joint, after repeated warnings, chances and opportunities to reform.

Kid doesn't get it. The team who drafts him might get lucky, but probably won't.

Unfortunately I agree. I think he is probably off our board.

No thanks. I'll pass on the former UFelony prospect.

Did you miss where Philbin essentially said character counts?
