Nope, instead we pick a skinny tight end who can't block. Makes no sense. Egnew was a 4th-5th round guy in my eyes. Too much talent on the board in Sanu, Massie, Boykin, Crawford, Fleming, Brooks, Cam Johnson, Crick, Givens, etc

We need to stay true to the board and not start reaching for need.

this was considered an extremely deep draft for WR's and we are going into the 4th without having gotten a good one....I f#@king give up with this team.

IMO we should have kept both 3rd's for Branch & Sanu.....Would have been one hell of a draft as I love the Tannehill & Martin picks.

Don't you see a contradiction there? This is a deep draft. We haven't wasted any picks and there's a good chance almost all of the WRs we had to choose from in the 3rd will be there in the 4th. Well except for Sanu.

Ireland is a joke! The best scenario is we go 0-16 and ireland gets fired. Then we have the first pick next year and get robert woods from usc! He is a better wr then everyone in this years draft. In the meantime sign burress just to get through this year.

Well if that's their board then it's set up wrong. Egnew should not be ranked above some of the guys still on the board. The last 2 picks looked like pure "need" picks, not BPA or value picks.

Sanu is a slot receiver - why pick a slot when we have a pretty good one in Bess already.

Because he's 6'1 212 and can play more than the slot, and fits the mold of the GB WRs who excelled in Philbin's system before. Egnew, while being a great athlete with good 40, vertical, etc, doesn't block well (ala Clay) and isn't the same type of inline TE like Finley and others.....you almost need to flank him to best utilize him. Maybe they will, i don't know. But i just think Egnew would have been there in the 4th while higher rated guys won't. I like to get the best value in picks and while Egnew might have some upside i just felt other guys had better value.

@Mogwai

I do see what you're saying but we need more than one guy with what we have out there now....and in the 3rd round, I wanted to see someone that could have been a high 2 any other year. Instead I have a feeling we aren't going to get any of the ones most people in this forum had in the "next ten" list. Let alone two.
