Didn't dogbone just quote Clinton as to saying that Romney's business record is stellar? Which is it...

President Clinton also said that we are already in a recession and that the Bush Tax cuts should be made permanent.

No he didn't. You're twisting his words.

You are right, He thinks they should be extended not made permanent. But he thinks they should be extended for ALL Americans.

Former President Bill Clinton told CNBC Tuesday that the US economy already is in a recession and urged Congress to extend all the tax cuts due to expire at the end of the year.

If you call them "Bush tax cuts" because tax cuts were passed during the Bush Administration, it serves reason to call them "Obama tax cuts" as they were renewed under the Obama Administration. It would sort of like calling the car I sold my car still.

Whatever Clinton actually did say, we should probably take seriously considering he's the only president who has demonstrated some semblance of fiscal responsibility & accountability since 1980 - if not before! Also he's the only one in a long time who was capable of and willing to compromise, working effectively with the other side of the aisle. Is there any scintilla of a doubt that if there weren't term limits, this year he'd be re-elected in a landslide?

Clinton is just using the media to protect his and Hilliary's political interests. He has been sending mixed messages for a reason.
He is supporting Obama to keep the machine happy, but tweaking him to keep him reigned in. He is the king maker.
IMHO, he wants Romney to win so Hilliary can make a run in 2016.
If the nation does poorly under another 4 years of Obama, the political pendulum will likely swing back towards the GOP in 2016 when Hilliary runs.
If Romney wins, pulling the nation out of this mess will take years. Romney would have done most of the heavy lifting at a detriment to his popularity. Hilliary will seize that and would be taking over as the worst will be behind us.

Bill Clinton could have run in 2008. He could be our president for the next 8 years if he wanted to be..
