I am 99.9999999% sure the article which seems to want to blame weak gun laws for this mess is bunk and the Democrats Oversight Committee and the DOJ is right. During both Operation Wide Receiver and Operation Fast and Furious guns that could and should have been intercepted were intentionaly allowed to walk into Mexico.

I agree, i have been following this from the start, and partisanship has nothing to do with what happened, as far as i am concerned.

I am a strong proponent of the second amendment, and have little doubt something like this could have been attempted by either party at the right time.

I encourage anyone that wants to give any credit to this obviously biased report to go back and read the reports from the actual ATF agents at the time. They ALL sang the same tune, this operation was much DIFFERENT than any other they had run, the weakness, or perceived weakness of the laws are a different issue, and also debatable.

No matter what, at times it is very hard to convict people, for all sorts of things. We had a Dr that was driving drunk and hit and killed a young girl on a skateboard here (Dr Corasanti), he didn't even stop, just went home and started crying to his friends about throwing HIS life away.

He walked, he may only face a little jail time on a smaller DWI charge, not a felony, all the others...walked.

These idiots WALKED the guns because the ATF ALLOWED THEM, not because they could not get convictions.

Are the republicans playing politics?

Please someone tell me when either party ever stops playing politics.

Regardless of the political reasons and whatever your political affiliation, shipping those weapons into Mexico was a bad thing to do. Those types of weapons are designed to kill people. They are not sporting goods. The loss of a border patrol agent in terrible, but the 100's of innocent people killed in Mexico is equally terrible. It is surprising the Mexican-American community is not more outraged with this particular incident.
We are arming the drug cartels. WTF? What good can be gained from that? Their hideout locations?
The good guys are the bad guys and the bad guys are blood thirsty animals.
