Spare the and you spoil the child, the saying goes. But spank your kid regularly and they might wind up with mental problems. Thatís the conclusion of a provocative new study. We are becoming soft as Americans. Kids work for nothing these days and this all inclusive "everybody wins" BS is total crap. Guess what every other nation in the world is shooting to be better than our younger generations and the fact of the matter is, they are, they get nothing handed to them, they work for it all.

I'm not saying beating the **** out your kid is the way to go but I have damn sure spanked my kid when he deserved it and he is doing just fine.

The truth of the matter is across the board rates are up, not just in children who are spanked, give me an effin' break.

A new study has found that five times as many high school and college students are dealing with anxiety and other mental health issues than youth of the same age who were studied in the Great Depression era.

The findings, culled from responses to a popular psychological questionnaire used as far back as 1938, confirm what counselors on campuses nationwide have long suspected as more students struggle with the stresses of school and life in general.

"It's another piece of the puzzle -- that yes, this does seem to be a problem, that there are more young people who report anxiety and depression," says Jean Twenge (https://blog.advance.net/mt-static/html/www.jeantwenge.com), a San Diego State University psychology professor and the study's lead author. "The next question is: what do we do about it?"

I had more than my fair share. My mom used to always grab two or three pieces of hot wheels race track and the one closest to my ass had the clip in it. That would light your ass up after all three of those pieces met together. Made me a better man for it.

If you're spanking your kid "regularly," you're doing something wrong, IMO.

There are many ways to discipline a child. Spanking is one of them but shouldn't be used exclusively or excessively. But it certainly is effective when used appropriately.
