Looks like WR Chaz Schilens of the Jets took exception to Antonio Cromartie's comments about him being better than all the Jets WR's except for Santonio Holmes.

Lol, I seriously don't know which is worse, your starting CB saying he can be the #2 WR, or the fact that the WR corps suck so bad that your starting CB says he can be the #2 WR, lol.

Let the imploding begin!

Who the hell is Chaz Schilens?

He played his first four years for the Raiders. He now plays for the Jets.

Schilens hasn't been able to stay healthy but he is a talented guy. Hopefully he can stay healthy here.

As far as Cro's comments and Chaz's response? is that really a big deal? eevrything that happens w/ this team gets blown up so it will be all over the media but it's not a big deal.

And to think, this schism is occurring even before Sanchez fumbles his first snap.

Holmes is a beast, no doubt about it. Stephen Hill definitely looks like a promising talent.

But how is this group SO MUCH BETTER then what the Dolphins have?

This is BIG news! you're onto something here. Our locker room is ****ed. And to make things even worse, while we wait for the implosion, we're all breaking out in cold sweats at the thought of Garrard to Hartline.
Woe is us

Yeah let the competition in Jets training camp between those WRs begin!

A lot of big mouths and little team chemistry has always been the downfall of these Jaba run Jests. Glad to see nothing has changed.

How does < 60 catches for < 800 yards qualify a WR as a "beast"?

maybe he should catch more balls in meaningless garbage time games and drop every big pass thrown his way like Stevie?

With all the talk about Mark Sanchez (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5192/mark-sanchez) and Tim Tebow (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5096/tim-tebow), the player who perhaps can do (and perhaps has done) the most damage to the team with the things he says privately and publicly is receiver Santonio Holmes (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3635/santonio-holmes).

On Thursday, Holmes (largely) avoided controversy in his remarks to the media, possibly since he spent the time (largely) evading the reason for his absence from practice, and his timetable for coming back.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/08/02/santonio-coy-about-why-hes-out-and-when-hell-be-bac/

Santonio not practicing, and it's not injury-related? It's not even the first preseason game and this guy is already acting like this? This Jets team is in for a rough season...

Actually, maybe he should try staying on the field in games that do mean something rather than getting benched for arguing with his QB in the huddle ...

It's NOT like he had a lot of competition ... Cromartie was still a FT CB last season.

so you wouldn't call a Game Winning TD catch to upset the SB favorites on the road in the div rd a big catch? you wouldn't call all the GW catches he had in '10 & '11 big catches?

Unfortunately this is the first ever fight at a training camp practice so we have no idea how they will respond. It doesn't look good, I never thought I'd see the day where a team would fight in training camp/

But he gets credited for that anyway

you don't think he's had big catches as a Jet?

The man has played less than 2 full seasons for us and yet:

2010:
-draws PI to set up GW TD at Denver
-52 yd catch and run in OT to set up GW FG
-37 yd TD to win OT game at Cle in final seconds
-GW TD catch vs. Houston
-big rec to put Jets in FG range to beat Indy in WC rd
-GW TD on an incredible catch in 4th qtr at NE in div rd

2011:
-GW TD at Washington
-GW TD vs. Buffalo

There's not a WR or RB in the division who has made more big plays the last 2 years.

a team fighting in training camp? never heard of it beforeYeah but this brawl sounds like it was personal. From all reports it got too close to the fans (10 feet away) and actually occurred in the media section off the football field. That should be unsettling Junc! It shows a lack of self control, and it clearly shows a lack of cohesiveness on that team. The fact is, something is wrong, even Tebow was seen stomping a guy....LMAO!

Absolutely 100%. Eli played well in his 2 SB runs, Sanchez played well in his 2 title game runs. The difference? In the '07 title game the D set up the team for the GW FG w/ a TO, the '11 title game? STs got 2 TOs deep in SF territory leading to the only 2nd half/OT pts for the Giants.

There they go again. One day after a headline-making brawl, the New York Jets (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/nyj/new-york-jets) continued their fighting ways Tuesday in a closed practice that was stopped twice by coach Rex Ryan, who lashed into his team.

A furious Ryan, who downplayed Monday's melee, lost his patience and ripped the team for about a minute, invoking the salty vocabulary he made famous two years ago on HBO's "Hard Knocks."
The players apparently didn't heed the message, because about 15 minutes later there was another altercation. Ryan stopped practice and ordered the players to run gassers for about five minutes.
When the punishment sprints were done, Ryan called the team together and delivered another profanity-laced screed.
A third confrontation occurred a short time later, when guard Brandon Moore (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/5116/brandon-moore) screamed at defensive tackle Marcus Dixon (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/11524/marcus-dixon) after tackle Dennis Landolt (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/13603/dennis-landolt) was injured while blocking Dixon in a pass-rushing drill. Moore apparently was upset because he felt Dixon tried to hurt Landolt, who was carted off the field. And to think, the Jets relished the trip to Cortland because they felt it would foster team unity.

Where in that quote does it say Sanchez is better than Eli? I think Sanchez was better in 2010 but obviously Eli has had the better career. The point of that quote was about the Jets and Giants, both QBs played really well in their postseason runs. D and STs made the difference btw making the SB and losing in the title games for both teams. If Mark is on the Giants and plays like he has in postseason the Giants still win those SBs, if we got Eli in any postseason besides '07 or '11 we don't make either title game, if we got Eli '07 and '11 we go as far as we did w/ Mark.

The Jets offence is taylor made for Tebow with Sparano and a run heavy game plan. Sanchez will be watchin from the bench while Sparano gives those 3 point fist pumps by game 3.

I most certainly would, and that's what I see in Cortland. nyjunk, I know we go back and forth on here and you and I differ on numerous occasions, but I am dead serious. I've seen it happen with the Bills too many times. The only time the Bills were fighting all the time and did anything positive was back in the late 80's when they were known as the Bickering Bills. They lost to Cleveland in the 89 playoffs and were able to turn it around the next year to begin their 4 year Super Bowl appearance run. The difference is that Sanchez is no Kelly, and Rex is no Marv. I see a major implosion coming. Of course I could be wrong, but I don't see the leadership from any player and certainly not from Rex. If he begins to cut problem players, then maybe, but until then, the players are running the asylum, and they are out of control........

The Jets are not fighting all the time, they had fights for 2 days out of the entire camp. Every team has fights, NE had 2 big ones last week. It happens, it's not a big deal.

Rex is better than Marv but Sanchez isn't kelly. We have a better Defense and you had the much better offense, the AFC isn't as weak as it was back then.

This reminds me of 2 years ago w/ hard Knocks when the D got cheeseburgers on the field at a scrimmage and rex lit into them. Everyone said rex lost the team, the inmates are running the asylum,... All that stuff is nonsense.

Trust me, even if things go horrible wrong this team will still win around 7-8 games. There's too much talent and they are too well coached. There's a much better chance a team like buf falls on their face as basically no one on that team has ever had team success int his league than the jets falling on their faces.

all that really matters is wins and losses, if they win this stuff won't be talked about again and if they lose it will be the excuse. We'll see.
