You know is all seriousness if someone REALLY wanted to, they could run for president with just the power of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. But the current candidates are are too old to realize how many people they could reach with just those three websites. And it would be WAY cheaper too.

Ron Paul did most of his campaigning on the internet in 2008. It didn't work out too well for him unfortunately...

That was then. This is now. We are living in the social media era. Where Twitter, Facebook and YouTube are all more trusted than the main stream media.

It's definitely possible. I'd say it would be a good supplement to normal campaigning. You're only reaching the youth vote via the internet though. Of course, the youth vote won Obama the election in 2008, so that's a good strategy I think...
