On the eve of his first rally on behalf of President Obama, rock icon Bruce Springsteen on Wednesday made his endorsement of the president official, embracing the incumbent Democrat as the nation's "best choice" for president in a message on his website.
Springsteen, who campaigned aggressively on behalf of the president in 2008, is joining up with former President Bill Clinton on Thursday for a joint rally in Parma, Ohio - Springsteen's first public campaign event of the 2012 cycle.
In his letter, Springsteen sympathized with voters who might feel disappointed by the nation's "really rough ride" over the last four years. But, ticking off Mr. Obama's accomplishments on domestic an d foreign policy issues, he emphasized that "we need a President who has a vision that includes all of our citizens, not just some, whether they are our devastated poor, our pressured middle class, and yes, the wealthy too; whether they are male or female, black, white, brown, or yellow, straight or gay, civilian or military."
"Last time around, [Mr. Obama] carried with him a tremendous amount of hope and expectations. Unfortunately, due to the economic chaos the previous administration left him with, and the extraordinary intensity of the opposition, it turned into a really rough ride," Springsteen wrote. "But through grit, determination, and focus, the President has been able to do a great many things that many of us deeply support."
As the president has done repeatedly on the campaign trail and in speeches, Springsteen emphasized the "choice" voters face.
"Right now, there is a choice going on in America, and I'm happy that we live in a country where we all participate in that process," he said. "For me, President Obama is our best choice because he has a vision of the United States as a place where we are all in this together. We're still living through very hard times but justice, equality and real freedom are not always a tide rushing in. They are more often a slow march, inch by inch, day after long day."
Quoting his own song, "Long Walk Home," he added: " I believe President Obama feels these days in his bones and has the strength to live them with us and to lead us to a country '...where no one crowds you and no one goes it alone.'"

Well shucks, if Bruce says Obama is the best choice then Obama must be the best choice, we all know that rock stars are experts on such matters.

Bruce just wanted to write another hit: Born in the USSA 2014 version

BOOORN IN THE USSA, I was born in the USSA
People free for Gov. aid
No contreceptions, I cant get laid

One percent to carry my load
Fiscal policies kick down the road

Deficit growing more with time
but That OK, I got mine....

Peoples rights going away
Gov. checks, stay home and play

Theres always someone out there to blame
Except our President he stays the same

Born in the Ussa, born in the ussa
won't recognize it one of these days

Give it time and Not to long
You'll Have no money to buy my song

I remember the USSA
alot of drug takin, my heads in a haze

all my freedom taken away
Cause nothing is like the good old daze.....
I wish we were the USA, wish we were the USA........

You shall never complain about bitterness between Democrates and Republicans like you did in the other post.

Now phins play nice.....
And I was speaking of personal bitterness You know like the name calling kind, and included both side in that act. But since you bring it up in reality see it more from you guys than others but I didn't want to say that and upset you more. I wish people would make sure that they actually understand what is being said before making comments. Have no problem with disagreement but bring Something...anything ...that does not resemble a personal attack...personal attacks will no longer be acknowledged, Don't have that much time to waste.....
peace out...

Taking political advice from entertainers is a bit like taking diet advice from Michael Moore. Sure, theyre famous and popular, but at the end of the day it's YOUR responsibility to study the issues and decide who best represents your views.

I love Jimmy Buffett. I dont let him influence my political thoughts.

I addressed a post of yours and it's contents (bitterness). So that "oh, personal attack!" does not fly. Re-read my response.

"Right now, there is a choice going on in America, and I'm happy that we live in a country where we all participate in that process," he said. We're still living through very hard times but justice, equality and real freedom are not always a tide rushing in. They are more often a slow march, inch by inch, day after long day."

Bruce is right it's nice to still have a choice, but IMO our freedom of choice will start to go out the window as we hand more and more of it to the government and begin to expect it to come back and take good care of us ( see Europe ). More Gov. less freedom. They will dictate how to live what to eat what to drink and on and on...Hey if thats what you want vote Obama. But His system will never work because even with 100% taxation of the rich we will go broke before there would be any chance of success plus He doesn't have the knowledge of how to get it done even if it did work, which it won't. Proof ah maybe look at the last 4 years....Damn in these critical times we've never even had a budget passed, crap blowing up in the arab world and Obamas out campaigning...

OK ...slow would be great at this point.....but after 4 years would have expected alot more going forward and instead see us treading water and even going under in places. Would love to know what Bruce is on to see a President who actually knows what he is doing and has some level of leadership and ability to work with people and get something done.
This slow march maybe good for Springsteen but Millions are suffering and struggleing to keep their head above water with little signs of things getting better...

to lead us to a country '...where no one crowds you and no one goes it alone.'"

Government is going to be running you life if we continue with this madness......

But I have to admit he knows how to make some great music...
