Per rotoworld. Seeing the fact our secondary is awful and just gave up 450 yards passing maybe we should take a look at Routt. He has been a decent CB in his career but has been awful this year, he is rated the 16th worst CB by PFF but maybe he is just a product of his environment considering the chiefs are a atrocious. Either way our secondary needs to be addressed because we are still very much in the playoff hunt.

Chiefs released CB Stanford Routt.

We're starting to get scapegoats in Kansas City. Even though Routt is a vested veteran, all players must pass through waivers this time of season. A starter through Week 8, Routt was a healthy scratch for Week 9. Javier Arenas will now start opposite Brandon Flowers, leaving Jalil Brown for nickel duties. Making $6 million in the first year of a three-year deal, Routt has graded out as the 16th worst cornerback in Pro Football Focus' rankings, so the move is justified, if surprising. He should draw plenty of interest as veteran depth for the stretch run.

Only if Marshall still remains out

He's a upgrade over Wilson

Very surprised he was cut, he was good in Oakland last year. I'd give him a shot. Can't be any worse than what we already have

Would a team have to pick that up?

Yea he was pretty damn good in Oakland. My guess is he is a product of an environment. That whole team is a trainwreck and it turns into a snowball affect and players just give up. Maybe going to a team that is in the playoff hunt would give him a boost. All I know is if were gonna stay in this playoff hunt something needs to be done about the secondary.

Who cares how much he's owed. What good is being under the cap when the corners on this team need help. Its not like the money is coming out of our pockets

Routt blows....we are likely stuck with what we have until the draft.

if you are cut from the chiefs, I think you aren't looking at a solid football player. And they need them bad in KC

He's big and fast and already has two picks. If marshall doesnt come back soon, we might have to add him

Routt was the most penalised cb/s in the league last year and gave up too many big plays. He sucks. No thanks.

He's been pretty poor this season. Although after the Colts game it couldn't hurt to bring him in for a look. It couldn't make our secondary any worse.

A player who gets cut by the worst team in football = Upgrade?

BringBackDan13

They're still a team that didn't give up 430+ passing yards in a game against a rookie qb and fairly average group of receivers.

Come on down to Miami! Dudes got speed 4.2 40 I believe. And from last weeks debacle that's what this secondary needs.

Cut by the Chiefs, yes....but do the Chiefs know WTF they're doing? I think not. I say pick him up, especially with Marshall going to IR.

Exactly. The Chiefs are a dupster fire. Sometimes good men wind up in bad situatations.

I think bringing him in to take a look can't hurt, and I'd actualy be more aggressive. Last week
showed us how painfully over thier heads our secondary is playing. I think Routt would be an upgrade.

Possibly he had a bad attitude and coming to a team that has a chance of making the playoffs would make a difference. couldn't hurt to bring him in for a tryout... already got paid 11 million from chiefs and raiders.. so could be cheap.
