I would be thrilled with the first three rounds of this mock draft!

No way in hell we walk away with Allen and Eifert! NO WAY without trading up!
Can you imagine those two with an offseason addition of Jennings or Wallace?

The first 3 Dolphin's picks look good (though I don't know enough about McFadden). My problem with this his other picks. Leaving some guys on the board too long that makes some of the picks a little unlikely in reality. I might rather have Patterson then Allen too, but be happy with either.

Although unlikely, I would be absolutely stoked if this were our draft. My only complaint would be our second 2nd round pick. Instead of taking an O-Lineman, I would take either a DB (Amerson - NC St. or Reid - LSU) or Arthur Brown (ILB - K-State).

His 2nd round pick is a TE.

Miami Dolphins: Menelik Watson, OT, Florida State

Seriously? I thinking Menelik Watson is 5th or UDFA? Just too raw and hes 26

Point?

Eifert is a projected late first round pick from most "experts", so getting him in the second would be a steal. There are only two TEs I would take in the first four rounds of this draft and those are Ertz and Eifert.

Yep, outside of that pick it was a nice draft.

Agreed. My bad, I thought you were saying he took an OL, but I forgot we had 2 second rounders to look at.

Keenan Allen (http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2013kallen.php), WR, California
Tyler Eifert (http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2013mteo.php), TE, Notre Dame
Menelik Watson, OT, Florida State
Leon McFadden, CB, San Diego State
Stedman Bailey, WR, West Virginia

I would bet my next paycheck that we are not going WR in our first pick unless something very strange happens in FA. Guessing passrushing DE/LB with our 1st because of the draft's depth there, then BPA after that (which should include TE, S, CB, OL).

Mock drafts are usually inaccurate after the first five picks.

Very nice. What would be more realistic is if we grabbed Allen with first pick, then traded 2 picks to trade up for Eiffert. And whatever other receivers or tackles they select is icing on the cake.

phinzfan21

Entertainment and discussion purposes is all they are good for. Certainly not accuracy. One pick can mess up the whole first round and cause a domino effect as far as predictions go. Guys do good to get 2 picks right outside the top 10.

Well, if we get Allen and Eifert then I'll stop saying that Ireland sucks but I doubt we take 2 playmakers with our top 2 picks.

Here's a little secret for ya. The Green Bay Packers gave up 51 sacks and still made it to the playoffs. If you can't consistently score over 24 points per game what good is a great O-line. We've spent high draft picks on O-line now for 5 drafts and we're still trying to fix it....enough, time to move on to skill positions and dynamic players, enough of this O-line picks in the top 15...that's an antiquated way of building a team that still hasn't benefited us in any way.

If we picked up a good online man in free agency then I wouldn't have a prob with the db

Regardless of who we sign in free agency we should draft a receiver early to have one to develop especially if we sign Jennings and he misses more games due to injury next year

Not to be argumentative because I'm tired of pissing money down a hole with the offensive line too, but the Packers have Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, James Jones, Jermichael Finley and Randall Cobb. I don't think that's an option for the Dolphins. At least, not in the short run.

The Dolphins have to do things a different way because they have different personnel.

Part of the reason it's impressive is it's not very realistic. Particularly getting Tyler Eifert at #42 overall might be a little bit of a stretch (though we'll just have to wait and see) and getting Stedman Bailey all the way down at #82 is a pretty hefty stretch.

And those two picks constitute the best picks in the mock. The Keenan Allen, Menelik Watson and Leon McFadden picks are kind of average at best, IMO.

Pretty decent draft but I would swap Eifert for Hopkins Carradine for the dumb 2b pick id be very happy.

I think the value of Allen is overrated. Yes he is a nice reciever, but there are others who can just as easily produce more quicker IMO. This is the world of the WR IMO. I would never call someone Avg. at best however because no one knows how players transfer to the pro level. I use Tannehill as an example. He transferred with flying colors even though he had that "experience" moniker on him.

It comes down to work ethic and desire IMO when it comes to seperating men from boys at NFL level.

so who would u take first?

We've got 3 months to go. The Shrine game is only being played today and the Senior Bowl is next week. We've yet to see the Combine. There has yet to be extensive medical checks on various guys with significant injuries. We've yet to see how guys do in their individual workouts. It's impossible at this point to just peg one guy and say this is the guy I'd go with. But I can tell you my favorite players that could be available at the pick include:

CB Dee Milliner, Alabama
CB Johnthan Banks, Mississippi Sttae
LB Manti Te'o, Notre Dame
LB Dion Jordan, Oregon (medical flag)
LB Jarvis Jones, Georgia (medical flag)
DE Cornellius "Tank" Carridine, Florida State (medical flag)
DE Alex Okafor, Texas
WR Cordarrelle Patterson, Tennessee

Among them I think Miami most likely to steer toward the two corners.

Overall, I really hope we start swinging for the fences a bit more in the draft. I think we're in a position where we need to draft a few stars rather than slightly-above average starters. Sure, ideally you want high floor and high ceiling, but if you think of a draft as a stock portfolio, I think we need to up the risk-vs-reward level a bit to have a shot at reaching the next level...

I think that guy said, "How can I make a mock draft where the Dolphins get Allen, Eifert, and Bailey?" and then just went for it. I'll be super pissed if Harbaugh snatches up Margus, but that's something I'd expect him to do. I'm worried about passing on all the defensive players for two WRs and a TE. If we make a splash in FA, that means we'd have way too many WRs on the roster. Are you really going to draft Bailey to play ST?
