Mort reports that Kearse may be close to signing with Seattle. The deal might include $20 million upfront. Many thought Redskins, Mort thinks Seahawks soon.
This deal would take them out of the running for OGUN!!!!

so now what...eagles?

Damn, that's left field. So I'll go ahead and assume Ogun stays with us. That's cool.

Danny

If he stays with us then he'll be gone next year and we'll get nothing in return. Not cool.

"If he stays with us then he'll be gone next year and we'll get nothing in return. Not cool.'

If this is the case...then they are better off trying to sign him to a long term deal...and I know this is easier said then done when we're trying to get some new and improved bodies on the O-side of the ball.

That would be interesting

Yeah that does throw a moneky wrench into things. San Diego needs some DE's after releasing Wiley and Johnson. I don't think they would be willing to part with their first overall and third but the more suitors the better no? The Lions might need some help too if Porcher retires.

It would be nice to see him and JT for a long time! With that said 2 #1's might be even better!!!

I think that would also put the redskins back on the list, they have reportedly been targeting Kearse -- if he's not available, O-Gun may be back on their radar screen.

Washington signed Phillip Daniels from Chicago yesterday. Reportedly, KC has developed an interest in Ogun and will be shying away from Wistrom.

I could see washington wanting him, but they cant afford to loose more draft picks. Portis cost them a 2nd rounder. I know they have a habbit of giving up picks but I doubt they would do it again.

I have no link but it will be announced soon. My sources...very reliable...tell me Kearse is going to Philadelphia. 7 years...I don't have all the terms but he is getting a $20m signing bonus. We'll see.

03-03-2004, 04:48 PM
Well that just means Ugon (not a typo)is worth a LOT if the payed Kears that much.

Yeah hopefully Seattle will pony up for Ogun

Wow, from Washington, to Seattle, to Philadelphia? Jeez what a free agent whine and dine whore.

To me, this puts Seattle as the front runners in the O-gun sweepstakes with Washington behind them. I wonder if dan Snyder really wants to part with those picks though.

8 year 66 million!?!??!?!?!

Sal Lisitano

seahawks will go after O-gun...IMO...they'll be in hot pursuit of him.

GREAT NEWS!!!

Of the teams interested in Ogun Philly was picking lowest.

Wally is now the premier DE available. I could see someone picking up Wiley over Wally because of the price.

Wally i think is a seahawk next year, either that or a viking

MarksBrothers85

BAD pick by Philly.....he's been playing half the schedule every year since 2000

Kearse will get a $16 million signing bonus and $4 million in roster bonuses that he will collect in the first two years of the deal.

That certainly s/make OGun look cheaper unless OGun thinks he deserves that kinda money

I guess that takes away the possibility of them getting Ogun.

Eagles land coveted free agent Kearse

The Eagles have reached a six-year deal with free-agent defensive end Jevon Kearse, Jay Glazer confirms. Kearse had 47.5 sacks in five seasons with the Titans

ask them how much money per game that works out to, assuming kearse makes it through half the season, which he probably wont

Dol-Fan Dupree
03-03-2004, 05:41 PM
Ask them how much they are going to kick a$$ when kearse gets hurt next year

He was grossly overpaid!

sammyeaglesfan

He was the best Defensive lineman out there don't be haters. He missed alot of games so he will be well rested now and be a force on the Jimmy Johnson style Defense. Our team wasn't that good last year but we still manage the best record in the NFC and we beat alot of scrubs..

akfinfan
03-03-2004, 07:53 PM
Your on crack!?!?! He IS NOT the best Defensive Lineman out there!! HE IS A NAME, and that's all!! Hurt all the time, amd can't play good run defense AT ALL!!! WAY OVERPAID!! And Pihladelphia STILL DOESN'T HAVE ANY RUN DEFENSE!!!!

Our run defense was fine until our two reserve DTs both went out for the season with injuries. After that, Simon and Walker played too many downs and OL were able to get out on the LBs. When Hollis Thomas and Paul Grasmanis were healthy and the LBs were being protected, MLB Mark Simoneau was the NFL Defensive Player of the Month in October.

REAL DEAL
03-03-2004, 08:20 PM
This guy is one hit away from the IR list. The Birds think we were nuts for giving up a # 2 for AJ. They give a guy who has been hurt for the last two years 20 million $. I would not want to take this ride!!!!!

They are planning to use the Freak in a rotation although he will get most of the plays. It was a need that the Eagles had to address since the had no pass rush. Depending on what magazine or newspaper you read, Kearse was anywhere from being the first or second best DE available. If he can stay healthy, he will make an impact.
