yea, the worst part of this signing is now I have to hate Troy Vincent.

That's an upgrade over Winfield, even at Troy's age. Good signing for Barf.

It could be a good pickup for them. I'd want to see the financial end of it before I jumped to any conclusions. He's not exactly a youngster any more. I'd have been happy to get him on our team for the right price.

Yea but I think there DB's have been downgraded this off season

the rumor is, his wife didn't like Cincy. I'm glad both Tait and Troy are :whip:

Well, Winfield really was one of the best tackling DBs in the league, but he wasn't much of a cover corner. I think his only nterceptions the last two years came gainst us. LOLOLOL.

Seriously, he probably picked off another one here or there, but not many.

Buffalo still won't be able to cover Chambers and Boston (if we get him).

Bodzilla29
03-15-2004, 05:52 PM
now all they need is to sign Marco Coleman and they will have finished off our Shula legacy players....which would have been grat 7 years ago!! haha

Troy Vincent is still one of my favorite players, which sucks because it is obvious we all hate buffalo....

Oh well, I guess now Troy officially sucks!! (j/k)

Does it matter? Only question is: will Boston run A) OVER him, B) AROUND him, or C) THROUGH him

Troy six-year, $20 million deal with a $3.6 million signing bonus.

Winfield 6 year, $35 million deal with $10.5 million signing bonus.

No brainer. Donahoe is awsome :D

Well his signing clears up their most glaring weakness.

This opens the door for them to take Rivers now.

He said he and his wife liked the area for their family. Must not have gotten the same kind of tour Mrs. Spielman gave the Tait's.

As far as money, we did not overspend- $20m for 6 years, 3.6m bonus. Considering what Winfield got from Minny this looks like a financial windfall for us!

This opens the door for them to take Rivers now. ESPN also reports the bills are working on a contract for Volek. Maybe no Rivers for Bills

The Bills are currently hammering out a deal with Bill Volek according to espn News!

With this signing, the Bills will be worse against the run and older. Don't forget Troy has a bum knee. He wasn't himself last year and never seemed to recover. Troy is such a class guy, that I hope he does recover fully.

This isn't a Bills board. Why don't you go report all Buffalo news on your own board. In other words, who cares about your signings?

Is Troy 33 or 34 this coming season? I remember Bills fans ripping us for signing Seau who was 34....and he isn't even in for 95% of the plays unlike Vincent. :P

It is a very good signing for them though. He still has a year or two left.

Hey go_fins :welcome: to the board... [/B]
thanks, glad to be here. you should see how much BS is in the bills board. they talk about sweeping us next year, and them getting back at the pats, and how our OL is gonna suck, etc, etc,...

I know the Bills fans have been raving over their young guys. Troy could be a good teacher for them but he isn't going to win them anymore games than Winfield did. I think this is a lateral move for them with a slight upgrade. I Like Vincent and wished he had gone to Cincy or something but oh well. At least he will get to play in Pro Player and be humiliated every year!

Like I said though, this isn't a blockbuster deal. It is purely a stop gap and I am happy that they got Vincent as opposed to trying to smite Belicheck and getting Law.

03-15-2004, 06:22 PM
Vincent is averaqe and declining I think that's above norm money for an average DB 4mil a year he obviously did it for the money only think about it why would you leave philly the are so close especially with the signing of Kearse...

A. Winfiled was a great tackler but couldn't make big plays. He droped balls that went straight at him. I would've loved to keep AW but not for the $$$ he got from the Vikes.

T Vincent is a class act but signing with Barfalo has dropped him into the clueless category !

At 33 and with the injuries that he had last year in Philadelphia, why would a guy sign onto a team where there national pastime is snow shoveling races ?

If Vincent plays in 50% of the games this season I ll be shocked ..

Marino1983 That would mean Marvin Lewis and the Chiefs are cluless as well? They both fought for him.

Vincent is a good addition for the Jills. However, the big question is can he remain healthy? If he does, he will be an improvement over Winfield in coverage. Winfield was pretty good against the run, and Vincent isn't. I think it is a pretty good signing.

I like the signing too..... He brings just about everything.

Leadership, good cover skills, and he is a pretty descent tackler.

UMMMM, Troy Vincent is not as young as winfield and not as fast. Chambers was blowing past Vincent on the Monday night game against Philly. He has lost alot of speed, but is a very good hitter.

A very good signing by the Bills....quality player and a quality human being...class act who can still play...brings alot to the table...definitly makes up for the loss of Winfield and is needed for some of the WRs in this division...Bills fans should be happy with this guy
