Since 1970 if we've only had 2 losing seasons.....what is the 'highest' we have landed in the draft process (by default / withouth trading up) and excluding those 2 seasons.....what is the highest?

(i don't know so don't ask).

I'm just curious....

Without trading probably 1990 Richmond Webb pick #9

We traded to get Troy Vincent's #7 pick in 92 and were 6-10 when we got Sammie Smith at #9 in 1989

It looks like it is 1989 when we drafted Sammie Smith at no. 9 after a 6-10 season.

In 1990, we drafted R.Webb at no. 9 also, but there were 10 teams with a worse record than us the year before, so I'm thinking we must have traded up to 9??

In '92 we drafted Troy Vincent at no.7, but our original pick was no.12 (Marco Coleman).

Thanks to all. Had to satisfy my curiosity. Although a finfan since 84 (4th grade) it has only been recently that I have gotten into the drafts in recent years.

Thanks,

The Dallas Cowboys used their 1st round pick in the '90 draft on Steve Walsh in the '89 Supplemental Draft.
