Would anyone like for me to post articles relating to Hurricane recruiting for this upcoming year? I'll post who they're interested in and what our chances are of signing them.

Most of these are from Rivals.com for the members but I'll post them here for my fellow cane fans.

LB - Demetri Stewart

Northeast High linebacker Dimitri Stewart is quickly becoming one of the most heavily recruited players in the state, according to head coach Adam Ratkevich. "Mike, he now has over 40 Division 1 offers," Ratkevich said last Thursday morning.

"Tennessee, Florida, and LSU all came through here just recently and offered him a scholarship."

Ratkevich isn't used to this type of exposure for any of his players. Until now, the young head coach's top prospect had been Demitri Linton (Rutgers) from last year.

"It's amazing," he said. "The amount of interest he's getting is unbelievable. College coaches never wanted to come by here in the past. Now we have head coaches flying in just to see Stew. He's not a guy, he's the guy."

Stewart recently took an unofficial visit to the University of Miami and his coach talked about that.

"He went down there and they had a nice set up," his coach said. "He got to try on the new jersey, take his picture with the championship trophy, meet all the coaches, that whole deal. He really enjoyed it and he's got a lot of interest in Miami right now."

Stewart is very high on the Hurricanes right now and it looks like it'll be tough for anyone to beat out UM for the services of the 6-2, 200-pound linebacker.

"UM's my leader," Stewart said. "I loved the school and enjoyed talking to the coaches and seeing the players perform. It seems like the right situation for me."

If the Hurricanes have a scholarship for Stewart come early February, you can be pretty certain that he'll be a Cane.

Wide receiver Jessie Hester, Jr from Wellington (Fla.) would seem to be considered somewhat of a lock to stay in Florida for college, growing up near Miami and with his father having been a past star at Florida State.

However, that may not be the case. We caught up with him this week to see how recruiting has been going for him since we last talked in February.

"There's not too much been changing and not too many phone calls,? he said. ?A lot of coaches are coming to my school to visit though."

Jessie told us that Western Michigan, Georgia, Ohio State, Iowa, North Carolina, and North Carolina State have all been to see him.

But he has lined up his favorites, and the Trojans are in the mix.

"Now it's Miami, Georgia, Ohio State, and USC," he said.

His individual thoughts on those four include the following:

Miami: "I have very high thoughts (about Miami). I like Miami a lot. It's tough to say, but that's my favorite right now."

Georgia: "Georgia seems really interested. They really want to get me. When they came to my school, they were talking about trying to give me info about their school. They showed a lot of interest towards me, so I'd like to know more about what they have to offer."

Ohio State: "Their recruiting coordinator, I've known since he was at Rutgers and I'd like to see what they have to offer."

USC: "It's out West in California and they were the first to call me on the phone. It's been probably two weeks since I talked to them."

Jessie is getting lots of mail from many schools across the country.

"I get hand-written letters from Ole Miss, Miami, Notre Dame, and Florida State,? he said. ?I get a letter for them every month or so along with Michigan and Georgia."

Has he narrowed his focus at all at this point?

"I'm open for anybody right now,? he said. ?Miami is leading though."

Regarding Florida State, he had this to say.

"I guess they hope that since my dad went to Florida State that I'm automatically going to choose them but that's not the case,? he said. ?I really have no idea - they really haven't showed any interest."

Jessie will be attending Miami's camp June 12th. He also recently attended the NIKE Football Training School in Miami (Fla.). Things didn't go as well as he would have liked with his testing, but he did recover nicely in the individual drills.

"I had a low 4.5 second 40-yard-dash,? he said. ?In the running, I didn't do so hot, but in the one-on-one's I did really good. I slipped in the shuttle run both times, so I don't even know my times there."

I have more. I'm not so sure about Jessie Hester being a Cane, once that FSU offer comes in the mail he might have second thoughts. Right now we're in good shape with some of the elite players in the country. Our first commit, TE, Martellus Bennett from Alief, Texas is currently doing some recruiting for us in the lone star state. His teammate Vince Oghobaase DT is probably the best in the country and you can bet he's trying to convince big Vince to come with him. Also, Callahan Bright is probably the second best DT in the country and he's considered to be a Cane lock at this point, things could change, but IMO he'll be a Cane come LOI day.

awsome reporting...it is "almost" as good as porn. It is great to entertain you and you know it is not real for you. But you can't wait for the real thing.

Thanks again!!!
