Trade up inthe draft to get him? Could be just the center that we need, he dropped out of the 2003 draft at the last second and is considered the top international prospect in this year's draft....

but look at all hte overseas successes, and darko doesnt have a lot of meat

I wouldn't call Darko a bust just yet, but those international prospects are definitely risky.

Darko was very raw coming into the NBA. He wasn't expected to do much. I don't even think he started in Europe last year. Darko was drafted based on potential, was very young (17 or 18) when drafted, and wasn't expected to do much as a rookie.

A lot of guys drafted in the first round from Europe do very well. I don't think drafting a foreigner in the first round is a bigger risk then drafting a HS player. Almost all of the Europeans drafted in the first round have excellent fundamentals and many have success in the NBA.
