Taking the 'I don't need anybody to help me' approach in foreign policy has hit home.

The widow of former President, and Republican icon, Ronald Reagan has told the GOP she wants nothing to do with their upcoming national convention or the re-election campaign of President George W. Bush.

Nancy Reagan turned down numerous invitations to appear at the Republican National Convention and has warned the Bush campaign she will not tolerate any use of her or her late husbands words or images in the President’s re-election effort.

That article is such BS.......

Nancy Reagan was just the other day with GWB at the launching of the USS. Ronald Reagan......

She was also at an event two weeks ago in the White House where GWB spoke.

This article smells.......like BS.

BTW...I also find it interesting that her husband would not have supported Stem Cell research and yet she is upset at Bush not funding it.........

For those that question that statement.....look back at RWR's positions on Fetal Tissue research....He once called it: "Macab"

I suppose CNN, MSNBC, or one of the Networks would be too much to ask?

Here is one from CBS that says she won’t come to the RNC. Imo I think the Reagans (Nancy and Ron) can’t stand Bush. Sure Reagan Sr. was against stem cell research but if some told him he was going to suffer with a long and bout of Alzheimer's disease. I think he would have been for it. They can't stand Bush for using stem cell research as a ploy to get re-elected.

I don't agree with the tone, but it wouldn't surprise me if she didn't want to be a part of the RNC. Up until recently didn't the Reagan's and Bush's have a very cold relationship?

I believe you are right Oliver, I never saw them together except when Ronald died. I think Nancy didn't like his decision on stem cell research.

She on a whole different horse right now.Shes become a stem cell research suffragette and as such will get more publicity criticizing the Govmt.rather than appear to be an obediant submissive follower to the Republican party.

I didn't see anything in there saying she was going to speak at the RNC. or they could use Regan like images and it talked about her support for the controsveral cell research...and it was a spoke person that did all this talk for her...you should know how to interpet that type of thing by now.

See Cnn's liberal but not when they actually come up with news in their favor, then the network is credible. Isnt that incredible?

And dont give that "even a broken clock is right twice a day" crap PP.

When have I ever said that CNN gave false information? In point of fact, when did I say any of the netowrks gave false information? As I recall I specifically asked for links to CNN or any of the major netoworks when asking for legit information. The liberal bias doesn't mean they outright lie(any more than Fox does), it means they give a slant to things whenever possible. They also tend to seek out interviews/stories that benefit the LEft...same as Fox does for the Right. Basically...when did I EVER say CNN wasn't credible?

Calling a network bias means that they retort infortmation that favors them. But when they do a story that favors the right, then the "Bias" thing dissappears, at least until the next story they deliver favors the left.

Once again, they DO pick and choose stories, just like Fox does. But Fox also reports stories that are against Bush. Maybe they don't report as MANY, but they do report them. Once again, I have NEVER questioned the validity of any of CNN's stories. BTW, it's biased, not bias, when used in that context.

That must happen in the daytime before I get home, Foxes whole lineup is just about Repub, that's why I got to CNN, they are a little more balanced.
