NEW YORK - How's this for a feud that straddles the line between politics and entertainment: CNN's bow-tied conservative Tucker Carlson vs. "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart.

Carlson on Monday fanned embers still hot from their "Crossfire" confrontation, saying Stewart looked ridiculous during his CNN appearance and was a sellout for publicly backing Democrat John Kerry (news (http://us.rd.yahoo.com/DailyNews/manual/*http://news.search.yahoo.com/search/news?fr=news-storylinks&p=%22John%20Kerry%22&c=&n=20&yn=c&c=news&cs=nw) - web sites (http://us.rd.yahoo.com/DailyNews/manual/*http://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=web-storylinks&p=John%20Kerry)) for president.

Stewart, appearing on the debate show Friday, angered Carlson by saying "Crossfire" is "partisan hackery" that does little to advance the cause of democracy.

And that was the mild stuff.

"You have a responsibility to the public discourse, and you fail miserably," Stewart said.

Responded Carlson: "You need to get a job at a journalism school, I think."

"You need to go to one," Stewart shot back.

Carlson complained that for a comedian, Stewart wasn't being very funny.

"Come on," he said. "Be funny."

"No," Stewart said. "I'm not going to be your monkey."

Man, he wrecked that show. It was pretty funny a lot of times. He really treated them like idiots too. And I gotta commend those guys on keeping their cool and such.

And OMG!!

[cutting to break]

Tucker: "I do think you're more fun on your show. Just my opinion."

Stewart: "You're as big a d**k on your show as you are on any show."

The video is exquisite.

John Stewart is hilarious in my opinion. His book America: The Book is just about the only book I've wanted to read and it actually be pretty good. He's very quick witted and just plain out funny, IMO...

I think it's funny that people were blasting Bill O'Reilly for "attacking" Jon Stewart when it was clear he was just joking around with Stewart but that I have only seen a little bit about this Crossfire happening. They really were attacking him, and Jon found a way to viciously attack back even while being extremely funny. If I ran CNN, I think I would have to put Crossfire on hiatus or cancel it. Stewart burned it to the ground and salted the earth.

A News/Political Analyst should never go at a comedian in Jon Stewart's class. THe analyst will lose every time.

Very true. The Daily Show is my #1 source for fake news.

I just got the book the other day, and it is great. Formatting it like a textbook makes it a somewhat weird read, but nostalgic in a way.
