I am just wondering if there are any Cross Country or Track runners here on this message board. None of my Teamates are football fans...Weird. I am the only runner that is obsessed with football. Anyway, are any of you current runners or ran in High School or College?

No, but they wanted me to in high school. I chose to wrestle instead. I sucked. Shoulda' chose track instead.

I did run 8 miles once a few weeks ago.

I get winded on the way to the fridge sometimes, but my brother did the cross country thing in the falls because his friends from track did it. He didn't run track, but he was a high jumper. He beat Randy McMichael in the high jump on the way to the state meet in high school, too.

He's a Raiders fan, unfortunately. I think I'd prefer it if he didn't like football. ;)

Cool man. I never did the field events though just the running events. You would be surprised how many Great football players were good sprinters in Track. It takes alot of discipline to run the longer distances though.

Really! I ran two races there last spring. I ran the 5,000 meters and the 3,000 steeple chase. Are you talking about the nice rubber track in Clermont. I think it is the only one.

No. I start off with a refreshing 1/4 mile swim in Lake Minniola then I jump on my Cannondale and knock off 11 miles around same like and over some nice hills. I then wrap it up with a 3 mile run through the historic district and then back down to the lake.

Not to brag, but Trackstar#6 qualified for collegiate Nationals today.

Ok, maybe bragging just a little. :D

At least somebody in the family worked out hard. I can type for miles and miles.

Thanks Muck, :D .

Man was it a tuff race.

And it took me 5 minutes to type that. I do the running in the family and you do the typing. :D

:whew:

What's sad is that I could run farther and faster when I was 5. I'm like one of those NFL-caliber football players who didn't work hard and wasted his talent......without the talent.

Congrats Trackstar !!!!

Hey Muck, be careful with that typing. That sh-- is dangerous. We don't want to lose our Admin to a carpal tunnel injury.

As for sports, I've always been in great shape, but I'm not athletic. I have no skills, I just try real hard, which keeps me competitive. I'm kind of an extremely fit Jay Fiedler(minus the ears), if you know what I mean. Think I should try out for the next team Wannstedt coaches?

Thanks scrap, I think you could be Wanny's next kick returner. Like Wes Welker or Jeff Ogden.

I always get outstanding, but never the best on the boat.
