I want to throw this issue out -- particularly for the lawyers among us. It has always discomfited me -- and never more than with the Michael Jackson verdict -- to here someone declared "Not Guilty" when all that can really be said is "Not Guilty Enough to be Found Guilty." In fact, many of the Jackson jurors thought he was guilty, but they were unable to ascertain his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt -- the standard of the law.

Which leads me to ask, what would happen if we changed the verdicts to "Guilty" and "Not Convictable." It probably would be thrown out as unconstitutional before the ink was dry, but ... discuss.

I like the idea.... OJ, Michael, countless more.... ALL "Non Convictable". At least allow the jury to say "Innocent" or "not convictable" so we know what they were thinking..
