I need to resize this photo; it's 79kb, but i need it to be under 77.5kb so I can use it as our team logo on fanball.com for fantasy fotball this year. It's a photo of the phins cheerleaders off the dolphins site.

I'm computer illiterate and therefore don't know how to resize an image. Could someone help and take 2kb off the image size.

Also the site says maximum picture dimensions are 64 x 64, not sure how that translates to image size?

Here is the picture:

    Yeah .... they're hot :D

Edit: here's the photo

64 x 64 is smaller than that picture under my name dimension wise. So that picture probably won't work for what your trying to do because you won't be able to see anything.

Actually, it's all one picture.

Is there anyway to pull out the one in the middle alone if that would fit better into 64 x 64?

Another option is this photo:

But it's not high res enough; it's only 3.4 kb and I'm looking for something like 50-75kb.

Plus I REALLY like those cheerleaders.

Any other suggestions for a team logo (were all Phins fans) for our fantasy football league?

That's the middle one cropped and resized to 64X60. The problem is the limitation on the actual dimentions you are allowed to have. That's what makes the images' file size so small. They give you the extra file size space so you can use animated pictures.

BlitPhinFan-

You were right it comes out too small to see. But I just checked the site and they actually will let you go up to 100 x 100. Is there anyway you could size it to that with the highest clarity possible?

By the way, if it's not too much, could you give a brief explanation on how you resize photos?

Sure, give me a few minutes and I will get you one that is as close to 100x100 as I can get without loosing the aspect ratio. I use a freeware program called The GIMP to do my image manipulation. Be back in a few with your new image.

Anytime. If you want to try your hand, at the low, low cost of free, then download The GIMP. There are two files you will need if you're running windows:

http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html

You will need the GTK+2 for windows and The GIMP for Windows files. You need to install the GTK+2 for windows first.

As with all freeware it's not the easiest to work with, but once you learn it you will do fine.

EDIT: I would also recommend downloading the help file, if you're completely new to using image editing software.

Also, if this task seems to much too handle for you right now. You may look into Paint Shop Pros' 30 day free trial, which can be found here: http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Corel3/Trials/Login&pid=1047023911984&cid=1047024437292

Here is Photoshops' version of their 30 day trail as well:
https://www.adobe.com/login/login.jsp?currentSection=TRY&next=%2Fproducts%2Ftryadobe%2Fdownload.jsp%3FftpID%3D2672

You will need to register with both sites(Adobe and Corel) in order to evaluate their software.

Sure thing! There are other applications you can use as well, but the steps necessary will be more involved and require more of a learning curve.
