Still rumor at this point, but sounds about right. BTW, that $60 for games? That was for the "major releases" like Perfect Dark Zero, not a standard price for next-gen games.

I hesitate to spend $50 on games now, and $60 means I'll be very careful about what I buy -and that I'll get used games more often.

That $300 for Xbox 360 is a great deal though. In comparison Sony is dropping hints about the PS3 being very expensive. $400? $500? What is the most they can get Sony fans to spend on a PS3?

I will not pay more than $300 for a new console... Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft... I don't care. Any more than $300 is too much. You can buy a new dell for $399 for god sakes.

I think I might skip out on these next gen consoles for the next few years (until they're $200 or less). Honestly, $60 bucks is a lot for a game. I've stopped buying games until they drop to $20 (3x that of the next-gen era, if we're to believe this rumor).

Hopefully, I'll get my badass PC project going. Although the prices aren't much cheaper, the reply value for games like UT, CS, HL-2, BF2, etc... is far greater, IMO. Plus I like whole the mouse/keyboard thing.

If 360 is going to be around $300 then there is no way in hell Sony will charge what has been discussed for PS3 ($500)....they will get killed and eventually drop the price.

This is the reason I am not buying a next gen game system until they have both been out for a year...I know a guy who spent $600.00 on PS2 (after tax and warranty) when it came out....thats nuts.

I've always been a Playstation guy but if the difference is 100-200 bucks from the 360, I gotta go with the 360. They're just too even IMO for that much of a price gap..

You show me a Dell for $399 that can play games the way XBox 360 will and I'll eat my XBox.

When you get done adding the graphics card, extra RAM, and everything else you need you'll probably be able to buy TWO XBox 360's or PS3's.

I know man :D

My point wasn't that you can get a good pc for $400.. My point was that $400 is way too much to be asking for a console.

I'd rather take that amount of money and upgrade or build a new PC.

Although console gaming is fun, it just seems to me that the best games are still better on the PC.

For those of you getting the xbox360 spend the extra $100. For your money you will be getting a 20gb hardrive, a WIRELESS controller, headset, hi-def cables, remote and i believe something to do with xbox live.

a wired controller comes with the reg 300, a rip off if u ask me. everyone's all excited about the new wireless controllers, but unless u pay 400, u gotta go by one seperate.

Ditto, 300 is as much as I'll drop for a system. For 400 I could almost get a Geforce FX7800.

I agree with you man I thought for sure the cheapest thing coming out would be 400 dollars but its getting outrageous now because if you buy this system they will have a new system out in 3 to 4 years.
