Real Women, Real Curves (http://gayandlesbian.aol.com/)

Whether you're straight or lesbian (http://gayandlesbian.aol.com/), you have to admit that the new ad campaign by Dove (http://www.dove.com/real_beauty/default.asp) that employs non-models is a refreshing change.

TSDANA9 (http://messageboards.aol.com/aol/en_us/articles.php?boardId=457780&articleNum=35160&forward=false&listPos=_articleId:16:9211708417568516_threadId:16:8379378115335508_pageNum:1:1&func=6&on_page=1&filterRead=false&filterHidden=true&filterUnhidden=false) says the ad "shows beautiful, full-figured, sexy, healthy women," but so far, public reaction is mixed. (http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/333146p-284498c.html)

Don't get us wrong, we still think fashion models (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Models) are hot, but for products aimed at improving how real women look, the test is how it works in the real world.

I want to see models... Women may want to see regular women in their soap ads... But I'd buy my woman the soap that I saw a super model use :D

I don't think it's better or worse...as long as it's not in beer commercials

I don't like it, TV is supposed to be better/ more exciting then reality.

Dove counters that it aimed to "broaden the definition of beauty" with the campaign

:rofl3: :rofl3:

Cute.

Seriously ... why fantasize about perfect women I'm never going to get when you can look at these quite-attractive-in-their-own-right women and think, "Now it's not out of the realm of possibility that I could actually hit that!"

I think it's a smart and classy campaign. About time someone changed the rules.

I'm in total agreement with Megatron. I'm now going to head somewhere dark and quiet and cry. :rofl3:

One of the rare laugh-out-loud posts. Good job, Doc.

Yes!

I know, I love my sig. NY_FinFan did a really great job on it. He somehow did exactly what I wanted when all I told him was to include those 5 players and a tropical sunset theme.

And what's even more amazing is that that exact pic of Cabrera is hanging on my wall with his name plate from his locker in Yankee Stadium in the 2003 Series. :D
