ok, i was out today cause i was helping my cousin friends set up 2 computers, well the father is a minister at his church. His computer was not working at all so i scaned it for viruses and u wont belive what i found, i used the program panda, and he has 1,314 virus. All the viruses was because he went to alot of porn sites, i cleared his computer and fixed it for him but i was surprised to see a minister looking at so much porn...

be very judicious with this information Jt you could destroy a good man, cause him to lose his job, house, family has to move, the whole nine yards... all because he is normal and looked at internet porn and you could be the direct cause.

id let someone know...could be child porn....personally, I agree with everyone who says mind their own business. If you are performing a service for someone, esp. concerning something that is private and in confidence, you don't go reporting someone, or even talking about what you found on their computer. None of us men on this site are completely innocent in where we have been, or what we have looked at on the internet, and quite frankly no one should know what our fantasies are or what we looked at.

Slappy8800

yea i mean, who cares if kids are being abused or something...pfftput the beer down, read what he wrote, and consider the fact that the preacher trusted him to work on his computer, and I'm sure anybody who lets someone look at their computer knows they are opening themselves and their activities up for the computer repairman. Do you think this preacher is dumb enough to let someone look their their computer if CP is on it?

Again, put down the beer and go to bed.

no, cause then if ur wrong his life and rep is ruin...anyway the thing i was surpriesed was how that computer worked after 1000+ virus, that was the most amount of viruses i saw on a computer, i suggest anyone with a computer to do a virus checker once a weak and clean ur pc...

Slappy8800
08-09-2005, 02:38 AM
how is it invasion of privacy if he is allowing him to see the contents of his computer? yes he would have to be stupid to have it on there but stupider things have been done

and for the record i dont drink alcohol, or engage in drug us for that matter

All update and running all the time, except when gaming, after I am done game I reset my computer. I think the last time (last week) I ran spyware sweeper I had 7 total spyware files turn up. That is about all I have had in the last year with everything I surf on. Of course I don't search for a lot of warez either, and hardly any Cracks or Hacks.

If u leave ur computer on 24/7 (which i dont recommend, i would shut if down if u go out or when u sleep) u could set up panda where it scans it when ur sleeping

The man wanted jt to remove viruses, nothing more, and he certainly didn't give JT permission to go digging through his internet history or private files.

Have you ever tried unistalling Norton or Mcaffee? Pain in the *** they are.

yeah, casue everytime i do it i have to restart the pc and it some time gets annoying taking it all off...Some people believe in the reformat method, personally I can't stand that, everything on your computer should be fixable without having to resort to a reformat. I do recommend a program like RegCleaner though. If you haven't tried it, download it, and uninstall any programs you don't want, then run the regcleaner to get rid of any remaining files related to the programs you unistalled..

Alright Slappy, I'll take it back, had Jt discovered CP while cleaning or repairing the computer it would be perfectly within his rights to turn the guy in. (well according to all these cases anyway.)

http://www.locatethelaw.org/Searches/ConsentSearch.htm

I would however seriously have a problem snooping through someone's computer, to me that would be the same as a plumber going through your wife's underwear drawer when all you wanted him to do was fix your toilet.

So I apoligize for my earlier comments and lack of knowledge on computer snooping.

In one case the repairman figured the best way to clean out the computer was to start searching through .jpgs... yeah right.
