yeah it is. i won't get into huge detail, just its definitly worth it. Its a lot of fun and using ricky and ronnie (assuming you have the updates) is awesome.

It's OK. Not better than ESPN 05 was. But, it is the ONLY game in town now...so play Madden or don't play. I really wish we still had an option.

How do you get the updates? Do you have to go online? I have online, just havent gone on yet. Also, can you play with them offline?

yeah you go online. if you have it on Xbox you can save it to the hard drive and play offline of course. You can do the same with Ps2 with a memory card. you download them.

So For The Posters That Own Or Have Played Madden 06, Do You Guys Recommend Me Buying? Or Should I Rent It And Play It First?

I only played it once at GameStop but had a bit of a hard time controlling the QB's line of sight (I'm sure it's easier if you have a Manning or McNabb behind center). Overall, the game is awesome, better than last year's (which seems to be the case every summer).

If youve never played madden, then i sugest renting it and then if you keep it from blockbuster after you rent it, they charge you the like 45 dollars left over and you can keep it. I bought it at midnight when it came out and its a great game. Getting the updates is a must though and the dolphins are actually really good in the game. They needed a little tweaking on the OL and DL and a little with ronnie and ricky and then they are set. Sadly, welker sucks in the game...but its a good game. If you love football (which you must if your on this site) then id say its a good thing to get.

If you mean the roster update download then there is no link, you just go to online play while in the game (and while the PS2 is connected to the internet via phone line or ethernet cable) and as soon as you go through setting up an EA account (or pick one to use if you have already done so) then right when you connect it auto-downloads the roster update.

does it cost money to get the roster updates?

IDK man, I just got the game last night, and I have heard rumors that it costs money to subscribe to online this year, haven't tried to connect yet so IDK how much it is, or if it even costs money. The updates are free though, if you do have to subscribe its a one-time charge just to access the online features, then the roster updates and stuff are free.
