FEED THE WOLF! In the week leading up to the biggest game since the 1985 Bears visited and left with a loss, a movement has begun. The Miami Dolphins are 2-0, something that has not been done since 2002, and are scheduled to go up against their biggest rival, the New York Jets. The talk is everywhere in South Florida, and Dolfans are extremely pumped for what may be the biggest game of the year. The hysteria is so big that Dolfans have united and hit forums, blogs, airwaves, and twitter asking all fans who are attending the game to howl like wolves in key defensive plays and on third downs. The movement first began when fans asked Dolphins' CB Sean Smith what he thought of the idea of howling to pump up the defense. Smith loved the idea and soon was joined by fellow teammate, Randy Starks, who like Smith, wanted fans to "Feed the Wolf." The "Feed the Wolf" slogan was first said by Coach Tony Sparano as a way to create an identity for his team when training camp began. Shirts were placed in each player’s locker that read, "I'm Starving, Feed the Wolf." So far, the slogan has been a genius move by Coach Tony Sparano. Not only is the team playing like a pack of hungry wolves, biting, scratching and clawing for a win, but now the fans are also buying into the slogan. I have never witnessed anything like this in my years as a fan of the Dolphins. Inspired by the movement, I have decided to spread the word as well in my weekly column. I ask all Dolfans who are attending Sunday's game for three things: - Make sure to wear orange: The Dolphins will be wearing their undefeated orange jerseys and have asked all fans attending to wear their Orange gear.
- Be Loud and Proud: Dolfans, we want to make this the most uncomfortable environment in the NFL for those stinking Jets.
- HOWL: That’s right! We need to Feed the Wolf and the best way to pump up our players will be by howling on third downs, key defensive plays and on touchdown drives.
Dolfans, I finish my column this week by congratulating each and every one of you who has made this movement possible. The Dolfan Bandits have guaranteed that there will be a public announcement at the stadium asking us to Feed the Wolf. We have seen the power of the 12th man and what it can do, now let’s show those Jets why we are the #1 team in this division. Spread the word and remember:
FEED THE WOLF! OOOOOWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOO!
