BROWN EXTENSION TALKS TO HEAT UP

 Ronnie Brown

The Dolphins have had preliminary talks with Ronnie Brown's agent Todd France about a multi-year contract extension. Brown has one more year left on his rookie contract and a new deal will keep the Pro Bowl running back in Miami beyond the 2009 season. Talks between the Dolphins and Brown's camp are expected to heat up during Training Camp.

Brown, who was the 2nd overall pick in the 2005 draft, was selected to his first Pro Bowl last season after rushing for 916 yards and a career high 10 touchdowns. Brown became a household name across the nation after the Dolphins introduced the wildcat formation. While other NFL teams tried to copy the formation, no player in the league could run it was well as Brown.

J.D. FOLSOM AGREES TO FOUR YEAR DEAL

 J.D. Folsom

The Dolphins on Thursday agreed to a four year, $1.812 million contract with rookie linebacker J.D. Folsom. Folsom, who went to Weber State University, was the team's seventh round draft choice in this past April's NFL Draft.

With today's signing of Folsom, the Dolphins have now agreed to terms with four of their nine draft picks. The other draft choices to agree to contacts are 3rd round pick Patrick Turner, 5th round pick John Nalbone and 6th round pick Andrew Gardner. 5th round pick Chris Clemons is also said to be nearing a deal with the Dolphins.

ProFootballTalk reported last night that there have been no negotiations yet between the Dolphins and 2nd round pick Pat White. Though, that is not considered to be a problem at this point, because in past year's teams don't start negotiating with 2nd and 1st round picks until later in July.

WEEK 17 MATCHUP TO RE-AIR THIS SUNDAY

 Dolphins Vs Jets

This upcoming Sunday, July 12th, The NFL Network will re-air the 2008 Week 17 matchup between the Dolphins and the New York Jets. The game will be broadcast via the show NFL replay, which is a 90 minute version of the game that cuts out halftime and the gaps between downs. The game will be aired at both 4:00PM EST and 10:00PM EST on Sunday.

The Week 17 game against the Jets was one that Dolphins fans will remember for a long time. It was the conclusion of the single greatest turnaround in NFL history as the Dolphins won their 11th game of the season with a 24-17 victory and clinched the AFC East Division Title. It was also Chad Pennington's revenge game against the Jets who had released him in August to make from for the legend Brett Favre.

So, if you have nothing else to do on Sunday and want to re-live a great moment in Dolphins' history, sit back and enjoy this classic Dolphins/Jets game.
