The Miami Dolphins and General Manger Dennis Hickey have agreed to part ways. The Dolphins are rumored to replace Hickey with current director of college scouting Chris Grier.

“I want to thank Dennis for his work over the last two years. We talked about a number of different possibilities, but at the end we reached this agreement,” said executive vice president of football operations Mike Tannenbaum. “I have a great deal of respect for what he accomplished here and wish Dennis and his family well.”

“I have been blessed to be the General Manager of the Miami Dolphins for the last two seasons and I want to thank Stephen Ross for giving me this opportunity,” Hickey said. “During my time here with the Dolphins, I approached each day with passion, drive and integrity in trying to bring a championship to this proud franchise.

"Over the past week, I have had a number of conversations with the Dolphins organization about my role in the team. Ultimately the Dolphins and I agreed that it would be best if we parted ways. I will always be proud of our accomplishments in Miami including many key additions to the team through the draft and free agency. I am also thankful for all the relationships that were built here with scouting department, the staff, coaches, fans, alumni, and South Florida community. My family and I will always appreciate all of the support we have received over the past two seasons. We wish everyone the best going forward.”

New England comes into Miami to put an end to another disappointing season. Miami has a lot of questions lying ahead of them as then enter the off season. The head coach search will be the headlines for the next few weeks. Hopefully Ross and company can land a coach that can turn the team around and at least get Miami in the the playoffs next year.

Season Continues to Spiral Out Of Control

It was a different score but the result and story was remained the same. The Miami Dolphins lost to the Indianapolis Colts 18-12. It was their third straight loss and the 5th out of the last 6 games. The game yielded the same results as Dolphins fans have become accustomed to this season. Nothing much changes from week to week. The game was close for most of the day but late coaching decisions to go for field goals instead of taking chances on fourth down led to the defense being abused by the Colts backup quarterback and an aged Frank Gore. Miami had one last shot on 4th and goal but the offensive line pulled off one of the most inexcusable plays in recent history. They stood still as the ball was snapped and Ryan Tannehill was crushed in a fitting fashion. This season will go down as one of more bizarre seasons in Dolphins history. With a hungry New England Patriots heading to town next week, Dolfans may want to take cover as it's going to get even uglier.
