Defense Thumped By Eli And Co.

The throwback jerseys finally made their appearance on Monday night football, as did many former Miami Dolphins legends. The Dolphins put on an amazing pregame show for the fans as they celebrated the 50 all-time Dolphins. It was all a spectacular planned event for the national audience. There was also a football game played and it didn't disappoint, that is unless you are a Dolphins fan. The Dolphins once again couldn't get solid play on both sides of the ball. The defense was unable to lend a hand this time as the New York Giants scored at will. Miami had an opportunity to tie late in the game but came up short. But there was a feeling that even if they did there was no stopping Eli Manning from dissecting the secondary once again.

There were too many penalties, dropped passes, turnovers, missed assignments and poor play calls to overcome. The defense looked tired and exhausted from the heat, not what you would expect from a team from South Florida. With the loss the Dolphins are now officially eliminated from the post season with 3 games to play. It's clear the coaching staff is overwhelmed with inexperience and a poor roster. It is inevitable that changes are on the horizon for Miami once again come January. The 5-8 Dolphins will travel out West on Sunday to face the 3-10 San Diego Chargers.

Giants roll in to Miami this week for a Monday Night showdown. Not just any Monday night game. Miami is celebrating its 50th year in the NFL by wearing a uniform designed after the 1966 uniform.

Hopefully Miami has the luck of the classic Dolphins teams shining on them Monday and bring home a win.

    Defense Stands Strong

The Miami Dolphins defeated the Baltimore Ravens 15-13 in what could be described as an ugly win but that's the way head coach Dan Campbell likes it. Earlier this week Campbell emphasized he wanted balance on offense with a heavy rush workload. Newly promoted play call Zac Taylor delivered. Lamar Miller led the way with an effective 20 carries on 113 yards. The results didn't produce many points as the only score on offense came from a 38 yard touchdown reception by rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker.

The star of the day was the defensive unit, Despite giving up long drives to the Ravens, they were able to come away with big stops that yielded few points. Derrick Shelby added to the scoreboard with a amazing 22 yard interception for a touchdown. Reshad Jones continued on his path to excellence with another key interception. It's unknown if Miami will continue their new smash mouth approach going forward but it is very clear this team wins games when they do.
