  • Dolphins defeat Colts 24-20

    FINS NOW 2-0!!

Ryan Tannehill has his best day as a Dolphin throwing for 319 yrds and a TD

The Miami Dolphins are now 2-0 to open the season after going on the road to Indianapolis and knocking off the favored Colts.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill again had an impressive day as he went 22 of 34 for 319 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. New wide receiver Mike Wallace was upset last week after only having one reception in the win over the Browns but had a much bigger day today catching 9 receptions for 115 yards and one touchdown.

The running game, which was non-existent last week returned this week as Lamar Miller rushed 14 times for 69 yards and Daniel Thomas rushed 8 times for 30 yards. Miller had a rushing touchdown in the first half and tight end/fullback Charles Clay had the game winning rushing touchdown in the second half.

Colts quarterback Andrew Luck also had a good day, but the Dolphins defense stepped it up in the 4th quarter as he tried to rally the team from behind. Cornerback Brent Grimes intercepted a Luck pass in the endzone and linebacker Philip Wheeler sacked him on a 4th down to give the Dolphins the ball back. The Dolphins would then take two knees to run out the clock.

This was an impressive win for the young Dolphins and an even more impressive start to the 2013 season. Starting the season with two road games is a tough challenge and the Dolphins overcame it and remain undefeated. The Dolphins home opener is next Sunday as they welcome with 1-1 Atlanta Falcons.
