Yeah as bad as he is, at least he's a body that knows the offense.

He's here for the rest of the year as a backup in case of injury, nothing more.

That being said....Watkins must be another stinker if the dude can't even be active when our Oline plays this bad and he's now been here for 1/2 the season.

hurt a lot...good scheme fit...kinda finesse...on a one year deal im interested but not with the mindset that he's the answer...he'd have to compete

I don't know what Miami can really do at this point. They let Jake walk and many teams would have done the same. It was a risk that did not pay off as it opened up more holes on the OL as Clabo has been getting killed and new LT Martin is not a starter.

This is not Madden so you cannot just send out a few draft picks and get a stud OL. If I was the owner and was not sure that Ireland and staff have long term jobs I would not allow any early picks to be traded. No team is going to allow us to trade for a really good looking young player w/o overpaying.

We are stuck and this new transaction is just a grasp at anything... Chances are the difference will be minimal on the field but take a worse effect in the confidence of the OL. I hope I am wrong and he plays well enough this year for us to move the OL around to get a better chance at 3 seconds of pocket time.

Foolish to cut Clabo, he is a vested Vet and his salary this year is guaranteed anyway. He knows the offense. Never know if we need him due to injury. Funny thing is the majority of posters were drooling all over Irelands nuts when he signed Clabo.

One has to wonder how much the Coaching Staff's part in this debacle is?

There is distinct value in having an old dude who's been there before pull you aside and say "boy you are f'ing up. Here's how you fix it."
The dude was elected to one pro bowl, that he didnt even play in because he was injured.

Conditional means: 7th Rounder if Tanny is killed this year, 6th Rounder if he finishes on the IR, 5th Rounder if he is still alive.

Harbaugh said conditional. Maybe its a 6th if he gets a certain amount of snaps. If not a 7th. I guess we will have to wait and see.

This puts me on the Official Fire Ireland Band Wagon. I can't take this anymore. The guy just doesn't get it. I applaud him for surrounding Tanny with all the weapons, but forgets to get him protection help along the O-Line. This can't go un-punishable.

Option A: They are thinking that they know something we don't, and signing Bryant McKinnie -- while not a long term or even optimal fix -- will improve the Dolphins pass blocking and offer a bit of much needed relief to our QB, who is playing under extreme duress.

Option B: They aren't. Thinking, that is.

Sure hoping it's A, but fully expecting it to be B.

Some of you guys can't make up your mind We picked up someone who we think will work it is better than doing nothing. If we did nothing than everybody would complain that we are just sticking with the status quo and everybody needs to be fired.

Let stuff play out first before you fly off the handle.

I didn't know the trade value was that low, so I definitely agree with it due to the logic that pretty much any goddamned body is better than freaking Clabo, who has individually blown TWO games in a row for us.
