Winless Streak vs. Houston Comes To An End
Jarvis Landry said the Dolphins were going to christen the stadium this Sunday. Indeed they they did. Landry caught two touchdowns and turned in an amazing effort along with many others in a dominating 44-26 victory over the Houston Texans. Ryan Tannehill passed for a career high four touchdowns in a nearly perfect game. The slow starts have become a thing of the past under head coach Dan Campbell's direction as Miami went into halftime with a 41-0 lead. Lamar Miller got the momentum going early and didn't waver, rushing for 175 yards and 60 in receptions along with two touchdowns.
While the offense didn't miss a beat, the defense was as equally dominating. The Texans didn't manage a first down until late in the first half. The pressure from Suh, Wake and Vernon was relentless. Reshad Jones had another interception for a touchdown. Miami began pulling first team players after halftime and Houston made a small effort late which didn't amount to much. The Dolphins don't have much time to celebrate snapping a 0-7 winless streak versus the Texans because they only have 3 days to prepare for the New England Patriots on Thursday night. Hopefully this new found momentum Campbell has inspired the team with will carry over to week 8 because the Dolphins will need every ounce of it.
